My ‘favorite’ thing about Marvel is their blatant misuse and complete disregard for their own characters just to serve a story. Like you said multiple times, this is a good story with an excellent premise, just the circumstances to get to the nice moments you have to rearrange characters’ personalities and that’s never a thing I’ve been a fan of. Stories should be built around characters, not the other way around. The emotional connection a reader has with the story is because of the internalization of those characters. It’s a good thing the films stayed true to who Cap was through and through, making the Civil War Movie and lot more balanced as a result. Anyway, great video as always Dave, always love hearing you talk about your thoughts and feelings on these comics.

The Civil War was (and still is) one of my favourite 2000s Marvel events in my list, this is one of these comic book events has a flaws yet still enjoyable, do i think others will like this book? absolutely not, but do I love this book? HELL YES!

When Civil War was raging, I was much more invested in following a far superior story that didn't get as much love and that was Annihilation. This featured the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe. My favourite Marvel characters are Spider-man and Richard Rider Nova, with Nova being featured heavily in Annihilation, along with reintroducing Star Lord Peter Quill, Silver Surfer, Super Skrull, Thanos, Galactus and the story villain was Annihilus. Brilliant story and in the follow-up story Annihilation: Conquest would team Star Lord up with the characters that would be adapted into the MCU Guardians of the Galaxy. You could do this story with action figures too lol. Lovethechannel keep up the good work

So many good points about the writing. I remember trying to read parts of it, and it was so hard to keep up with all of the different comics running alongside one another. Definitely a comic run that benefits with the invention of Marvel Unlimited and hindsight. To an extent I feel the movie really failed writing a "both sides" story very well too. I think Civil War is one of the better Marvel films, but it really makes Tony feel like a villain and Steve feel like the 100% correct hero, and the ending cements that. The movie almost writes Tony like he's an asshole for wanting his parents murder to be punished.

Nay-more-rita! She was one of my first Comics crushes as we were about the same age when she was introduced. I liked her so much that I patterned my own Princess Tara after her. This was also because I couldn't exactly use Namorita in my stories. And I jacked my Princess Tara up in power to distinguish the two. My Tara has a lot more powers and also doesn't need ankle wings to fly. I also have a thing for elf-like women and I knew about her mother Namora. I once joked to my late wife about her getting an 'Ear Job'!

And, while probably only 1 or 2 people who are friends of mine care, the differences between my Sea Princess Tara and Namorita. Both are Blonde and beautiful with cute elven ears and sea green eyes. However, Tara has many more Sea based abilities. Tara can; Flatten herself to an inch wide to slip under doors or between bars. Can illuminate herself, or just part of herself to shed light in dark places like many deep, deep sea creatures. Use the superior chameleon abilities of the octopus, changing color, texture etc. becoming almost invisible in plain sight, with some effort and concentration. Can also shoot blinding ink like substance from her hands. Can actually throw electric bolts, limited range, or electrify her body if someone is foolish enough to grab her. She can also become extremely slippery in those situations. Namorita had this power briefly, Tara always had it, a poisonous touch of various degrees, stun, all the way to lethal. I also saw Tara as being a little faster and a little stronger. She also flys without ankle wings somehow she also got the flight abilities of various Sea Birds.

I agree so much with that Wolverine being burnt to a skeleton and healing back trash. So many people think Wolverine can recover from any injury but he cant. In the early stories up the early 2000s he could be killed if major organs were damaged or if he suffered major blood loss. Even some poisons he'd say his healing factor wouldn't be able to handle. He also couldnt grow back whole limbs. A clone of Storm killed him with a lightning strike back in the day. He once told Calisto that her knife attack to his throat would've "done the trick" but over the years the writers just lost their minds and made Wolverine boring by making him invincible. I totally agree with you that characters are boring when there's no risk to their life.

The point made at 12:55 isn't a fair argument, let alone a good one. The very easy rebuttal is "because I AM better than the police. Cops are paid by public taxes and as such, are beholden to the public (at least that's the point of government law enforcement, but we all know better). I am not funded by the public and therefore not owned by them. I have every moral right to protect the lives and property of those in my community and to do so as a private citizen and my continued privacy will be my choice not yours. I owe you people nothing."
@cambodianz2 жыл бұрын
I also really like the previous point you made about how silly if looked having The Illuminati sitting around in uniform. Here is some Bad News from the Dark Side of Planet Earth. I just wrote this comment under Entertainment Tonight's video about Anne Heche's death: " This is extremely distressing. Check out Popcorned Planet and her partner's channel Ami Goodheart, and Popcorned Planet also features her. Also read the highly disturbing article about all she suffered through and her family's sort of cursed history (Her father was the first person in the U.S.A. diagnosed with A.I.D.S apparently). See the movie Cat Fight starring her, and read her Autobiography "Call Me Crazy". She was taken off life support due to being brain dead after entering a coma which may have been induced due to the severity of her injuries. It was her request to have her organs donated. Her brother died in a car accident and so did her sister's husband. Tragedy seemed to swarm around most of her family, seemingly in relation to her father mainly. I really wished she had been given more time and survived, but if she had she may have faced criminal charges for the events of the day she had the accident which sent her to the hospital, of which people can view the morbid footage of her getting up inside the stretcher or gurney and possibly being sedated afterwards. I've been terribly disturbed by all of this, it bothers me a lot. Please send ami Goodheart your friendly and loving comments of support and condolences, she and Anne Heche were about to embark on some fun content creation as well and I hope that Ami Goodheart still does so since her wonderful attitude is much needed in the world today. I hate that this happened, so much bad happened for a number of people very suddenly, and this should bring attention to the dangers involved with mental illnesses that aren't carefully managed and drug use or self-medicating efforts as well, and driving under the influence or while having an episode. I wish someone could have stopped her and saved her, as this was basically a suicide as far as it seems. " Usually I don't care much about these things but this one bothered me tremendously and I was personally pretty close to the issue because of communicating with Ami Goodheart a little bit and encouraging her to start content creation, which I still hope that she does eventually. I'm pretty sad about all this though, and the footage was very disturbing, seeing her lift out of the gurney just before they put her in the ambulance, it was totally freaky and made me want to cry. I also feel bad because of the mental illness aspect and also her horrific life story and past history and what she said her father did and what else happened to her family.

Basically the people the police and FBI put away any normal human can stop so chances of them making into their family or even getting a hold of family members documents are slim to none. first off great vid as usual however i have to say iron man wasnt right and in that issue with reed richards with the foundation equations and the mad thinker it was proven that the math was correct but reed had ignored the human factor as usual. one thing i think most comics and yourself got wrong is that cap isnt just some guy a year out of being frozen hes at least 10 years out of the ice given he was an avenger at the start of spideys career when he was 15 and he is at minimum 26 in civil war maybe mid thirties. thing is registration lost me in the first issue because of what they did to luke cage act banning superheroing became on the books at midnight and they had a strike team outside his door luke was planning to just sit out the war and do nothing but they were arresting him just for the crime of having powers. its the plot of every xmen bad future and they just put it into law heck the xmen themselves at the time are literally on house arrest not allowed to leave the mansion. it was proven to be wrong route afterwards by what happened when iron man "won" they put heroes into training camps to use them as soldiers. cloning micheal van patrick without his permission and the tragedy of cloud 9. she was a young girl who had the power of flying around on a little cloud all she wanted to do was fly about on it and she was turned into a sniper against her will and severely traumatised. luckily when cap took over as head of shield he freed her from her indentured servitude and she flew off happy
