Texas and California working together does make sense if the objective is to remove a President who refuses to leave office as the ideological leanings of the states wouldn't really matter compared to their choice to defend the Twenty-second Amendment. If we assume the rogue President has support from most of the East coast then they'd be pretty much forced together if they wanted to enforce the rule of law as they'd be the only ones big enough to threaten that power base. Florida is pretty much out of it as an independent.
@greenpiersystem3 ай бұрын
Yeah, Florida went into the ocean, apparently, because they apparently were a different front in the movie (it was 2 v 1, Florida by itself [named to seemingly be a Hispanic-based government instead of a direct offshoot of the United States, which makes sense given how many Hispanics live in Florida.] Texas and California formed a separate front as The Western Front. They'd probably fair okay, let's not put them down, they do have the Florida crazy, which the main symptoms of which are "man too angry to die" and "crackhead determination." They'd probably try to ride the fucking gators into battle, and I (👾) don't know if the US military is prepared for that. 😂 Texas and California would get along if there was an actual threat to democracy, which is what we see here. The president clearly is a wannabe dictator (no comment on the oompa-loompa that likely inspired the character, since he's actually SAID he wants to be a dictator on DAY ONE) and has taken fire against his own constituents; actual military-grade attacks, not just sonic weapons (which you can actually see in the film, they're the tan military trucks that have a dish on top instead of a gun. They're used to quickly dispel riots because the sonic beam, focused on a crowd, is painful and disorienting until they get out of that cone of sound.) Texas would JUMP at the opportunity to prove the second amendment, and holy shit, that's an opportunity that they've been SALIVATING for. Literally, the second amendment exists for a "well-armed militia" in case the government goes tyrannical. Sounds like a tyrant needing an ass-whooping was in the office. California, on the other hand, would be fighting for democracy. As much as Cali gets hate, if we had to choose between our current state of NY and Cali for actually doing shit for constituents RIGHT, then we'd pick Cali any day. The fact that (while a bit extreme) they have MORE regulations for safety, like the cancer warnings on products, and they were one of the first to legalize weed, when the fucking EPA is having a stroke from underfunding and the FDA can't figure out how to put a racially-motivated Class I drug into a different class (marijuana was just as legal as Alcohol does until about 80 years ago when some asshole at the beta version of the DEA realized there was nothing for them to crack down on and the federal government was about to close them out, so since Hispanics and "Mexicans" were actively being protested at the time, he decided to falsely testify that Marijuana is what makes "mexicans" more violent, which made the case to ban it. It was entirely predicated on the fact they had nothing to do, so they demonized Hispanics for using it to GAIN something to do. And Nixon had the chance to overturn this bipartisanly, but apparently he did the same thing oompa-loompa did with the Immigration Reform bill, and blew it up because he knew he could target political opponents by sending the DEA after them, especially black or Hispanic critics) fucking astounds me. (👾) So California would be taking this like a risk to the country, a detriment. And they'd be doing something about it, like voters are now. So Texas and California would probably get along, at least for that moment. In fact, I'd (⚖️) probably say California would be the logistics while Texas would be the military arm of the Front. They both get to do exactly what they like to do, they're prepared accordingly (silicon valley would likely turn into something like the Pentagon, and given how much US-based tech is based in California, they could probably throw a few switches, as well; meanwhile, who has more guns than Texas? Well, maybe Alaska, but they don't like hearing about big brother anyway. 😂) and they get to do it while kicking a tyrant's ass. What more could you ask for? -👾/⚖️ Edit: Apparently there were THREE fronts, so it was 3 v 1. Apparently Idaho, Oregon and a few other northwest states made their own separate alliance from California. So in totality, it's Florida, Louisiana and Georgia working the Florida Alliance front; Texas and California are THE ONLY members of the Western Forces; and the New People's Army is basically everything from Wisconsin west, with Utah jutting out the otherwise-flat bottom. The New People's Army IS in alliance with the Western Front, despite being a different group, so they aren't off in another lane like Florida Alliance seems to be. It's been confirmed that if states are NOT in those three groups, they're loyalists. So most of the east coast to the Midwest is Loyalists, and Hawaii and Alaska also are loyalist (if anything, Hawaii being loyalist is the most unreasonable. They've been wanting to dip for ages because of how many tourists there are and how little they give a shit about the islands or their culture. They'd see this shit and go "yup, deuces, you all have a grand ol' time while we dip.")

People hear California and think everyone there is a liberal and they hear Texas and think everyone there is a conservative. More people voted republican in California in 2020 than in any other state. And in 2020, Ohio, a longtime swing state or purple state, was redder than Texas. It's not that far-fetched to think the large, minority group in one of the states took over then allied with the other. Some people are saying (based on nothing at all apparently) that Garland allied two states that wouldn't make sense in the real world as a way to "sidestep" some political polarization that could result in lower box office returns. Those people are probably both unfamiliar with Garland's work and not nearly as well informed on politics as they think they are.

El Paso, Dallas and Houston are all blue areas of Texas (just three examples among more). Texas voted for Trump by only 52% in 2020. All it would take to turn Texas blue is for 3% of independents to lean Democrat. The same cannot be said of California. While it has some red regions, they voted overwhelmingly for Biden in 2020. Turning Cali red would take 10% + to switch. While this alliance could happen for a dozen different reasons, it could simply be that Texas flipped with that 3% of votes.

Think whatever you want. Just do it critically and with genuine intellectual honesty. The 5 Steps to Critical Thinking: What is critical thinking? In general, critical thinking refers to actively questioning statements rather than blindly accepting them. Critical thinking results in radical free will. 1. The critical thinker is flexible yet maintains an attitude of healthy skepticism. Critical thinkers are open to new information, ideas, and claims. They genuinely consider alternative explanations and possibilities. However, this open-mindedness is tempered by a healthy sense of skepticism (Hyman, 2007). The critical thinker consistently asks, “What evidence supports this claim?” 2. The critical thinker scrutinizes the evidence before drawing conclusions. Critical thinkers strive to weigh all the available evidence before arriving at conclusions. In evaluating evidence, critical thinkers distinguish between empirical evidence versus opinions based on feelings or personal experience. 3. The critical thinker can assume other perspectives. Critical thinkers are not imprisoned by their own points of view. Nor are they limited in their capacity to imagine life experiences and perspectives that are fundamentally different from their own. Rather, the critical thinker strives to understand and evaluate issues from many different angles. 4. The critical thinker is aware of biases and assumptions. In evaluating evidence and ideas, critical thinkers strive to identify the biases and assumptions that are inherent in any argument (Riggio & Halpern, 2006). Critical thinkers also try to identify and minimize the influence of their own biases. 5. The critical thinker engages in reflective thinking. Critical thinkers avoid knee-jerk responses. Instead, critical thinkers are reflective. Most complex issues are unlikely to have a simple solution. Therefore, critical thinkers resist the temptation to sidestep complexity by boiling an issue down to an either/or, yes/no kind of proposition. Instead, the critical thinker expects and accepts complexity (Halpern, 2007). Critical thinking is not a single skill, but rather a set of attitudes and thinking skills. As is true with any set of skills, you can get better at these skills with practice. In a nut shell, critical thinking is the active process of minimizing preconceptions and biases while evaluating evidence, determining the conclusions that can reasonably be drawn from evidence, and considering alternative explanations for research findings or other phenomena. CRITICAL THINKING QUESTIONS >Why might other people want to discourage you from critical thinking? >In what situations is it probably most difficult or challenging for you to exercise critical thinking skills? Why? > What can you do or say to encourage others to use critical thinking in evaluating questionable claims or assertions?

America is an extremely right wing country compared to basically anyone of its allies, especially the Nordic countries and Ireland etc. Yet we are all still allies, how come? For a lot of reasons, but in short because we need each other. *And that is the context in which you have to view CA and TX in this scenario, they are not America anymore but two independent countries. They really don't need to share any values, all it takes is for them to have the same powerful enemy and and alliance will come naturally.* That is one way it could make sense, another one is this: A truly fascist president will be a natural enemy of California for ideological reasons, but a fascist leader would also try to abolish state rights in order to centralize power to his office... and thus it makes sense that independent minded Texas would also consider him an enemy. And then you need no other reason than "the enemy of your enemy is your friend" for a CA/TX alliance to make perfect sense.
