Nice video, thanks! I recently grabbed this exact version of the Elementum that you are showing. (They sell out pretty fast on BHQ!) I wish listed the D2 model last Christmas. 3 people got it for me, the detent strength is not based on the model, there is just variance in the detent manufacturing process. I can say that having tested all 3 of them. One detent was almost too stiff, but scary snappy. Honestly, I found that there is a bit of training to get your finger use to making a flipper on ball bearings flip, and a little oil in bearings of course. Not unlike the first time you use a thumb stud with your middle finger to flick out a blade, just practice.

I always like to know if there is any play up and down side to side or whether it’s a solid set blade and something you could depend on not many folks show that in their videos. A blade that looks good and has great material but the blade shakes and wiggles like its dancing strung out on crack. A blade that don’t walk is a knife for Me!!!

Williams Knife Life yea you’ll definitely enjoy the detent on the S35VN version then. Although I’m still not sure if Civivi actually made the detent stronger or if just the difference in blade weight and thickness makes the detent stronger. I’m pretty sure it’s the latter of the two.

you can try adding some spring tension to the liner by bending it - (even if doing so can feel kind of wrong and lacking in scientific precision/measurement), it can be quite effective for increasing or decreasing the detent. It's funny that you mentioned the blue Elementum because mine, (also blue g10), came with very strong detent & I had to press flipper way too hard. I "de-sprung" the liner lock by bending it back a bit and now it's got a perfect tension.
