In all fairness to Gowasu, he was legitimately *trying* to be a good teacher. He didn't hate Goku as a person, he hated what Goku represented: A power-hungry mortal who somehow attained the power of gods. A mortal who is inherently violent and loves battle. A mortal who dared to do battle against his own god of destruction and live to tell the tale. Goku's existence proved was everything Zamasu hated: Due to the gods not doing their jobs, they had accidently allowed a mortal such as Goku to become so powerful, that the he can basically defy the gods whenever they want. In other words Goku was such a menace that without even trying, he managed to become the top target for the most genocidal kai in all of the multiverse. Goku is HIM.

Since Goku represents literally all of his problems with mortals, from his twisted point of view, it was only right to use Goku's body to destroy the mortals. Zamasu comes to the conclusion that all sentient mortals are barbaric and violent and is frustrated by the Kais' refusal to stop them. His thought process for coming to this conclusion is shown extensively in the show through conversations with Gowasu, he considers his master's advice to the contrary but eventually solidifies his opinion and decides to fight for his utopia. I love the development his character went through. Instead of being introduced as a fully fledegd evil dude, he is introduced as a conflicted dude who eventually becomes more and more radicalized as Gowasu and Goku proves his point: Mortals such as goku were too barbaric and were increasingly becoming more powerful, while gods such as Gowasu did nothing to stop them. Zamasu's point is further proven when we remember power-hungry mortals like Moro and Buu who the gods also failed to deal with. Zamasu was right to an extent, which is what I love about his character.

You know what's messed up? In the manga, Goku never meets Present Zamasu. Instead, the first time Present Zamasu learns of Goku is through the manga adaption of the GodTube scene. Which means Zamasu was going to target Goku one way or another.

Well yeah, of course thats just common sense. In the timeline we first see, Zamasu meets Goku due to Goku coming to investigate Goku Black's ki. But if Goku Black never existed in the first place, Goku would never need to investigate Zamasu. Therefore, its obvious that original Zamasu (the one in Black's body) put his plan into place without ever meeting Goku. As the manga shows, he likely finds out about Goku from Godtube (a scene we also see in the anime) and is horrified at seeing Goku use SSB to fight against Hit. Zamasu would definitely not be a fan of seeing goku use god ki to fight another mortal, so thus his plan begins!

The Goku Black arc is so close to perfection. The only really bad part of it is how it ended. Honestly, they should've saved the Mafuba for that moment. That's the only thing I can think of that would've been able to deal with Zamasu at that point, since he went all Giygas on the Z-Crew. Either that, or simply having Trunks win after cutting fused Zamasu in half. It's very strange to me that they didn't just use that loophole to kill him. The fact that his body was only half-immortal. As far as I'm concerned, that's my headcanon as to how that arc ended.

I feel the next character from the Dragonball Franchise who needs a trial is Android 17. The level of cold and calculated he exudes when he's in his bag is absolutely chilling, and the man practically carried Universe 7 through the Tournament of Power. The way he weaved Kakunsa was so cold, I got goosebumps like Death just brushed past my soul.

Unfortunately, unless he starts getting more screentime in the series itself that probably won't happen Android saga 17 was a *menace* ,but his time was short lived. DBS 17 is pretty chill and although he has his more sarcastic and colder moments he pales to a lot of the other members of the Round Table on here.

Zamasu is probably the most well written antagonist in all of Dragon Ball (Yes, better than Frieza and Piccolo), simply because he isn't a one note bad guy. These scenes where he talks philosophy are my favourites in all of Dragon Ball too. No other character was given this much thought. Seriously, go through some of the other villains' motivations and you'll see Zamasu is so much more interesting.

It's just a matter of checking a box really. Basically every dragon ball villain is either flat pure evil and driven only by a basic self-interest or just being an embodiment of evil (in the case of piccolo and buu) and if they aren't either of those then they aren't actually evil at all, meanwhile zamasu actually has *a* motivation and *a* cause that he strives for and is adequately fleshed out, making him objectively better written than any dragon ball villain really

By far, and its not even close. His only competition is really just Granolah and saiyan saga vegeta in terms of understandable antagonists. Maybe even throw Baby Vegeta in there (even though I think him changing his plan from revenge to universial domination so suddenly was poorly written).

Agreed. Most DB antagonists are either just menaces, charismatic, or incredibly evil. But Zamasu actually has a ton of depth. Zamasu is charismatic as well as a menace and (arguably) evil. Zamasu also has quite a few ofunny/humorous moments which boost his character up and make him less one-note. Add all of that to entertaining personality and speeches, and you have a great DB character.

@@DragonSlicer Goku forgetting the seal isn't that big of a deal, I don't even think its in character for goku to want to use such a method to defeat a villain anyways. Trunks Spirit Bomb Sword, as goofy as the name sounds, was one of the coolest moments in DBS. The only real problem with the arc was SSJ rage, and Zeno erasing the universe. I'd say a solid arc, 7.5 maybe 8/10 easily. The manga version on the otherhand was a 9/10 because it fixed a lot of problems.

@@shaolinfantastic9118 "goku not wanting to use that method" I mean that would be pure stupidity, It made him look like a complete idiot because he learned the method to do it and just to forget the key item to seal it because zamasu is immortal so that is the only way to deal with him makes him just seem incompetent, The spirit bomb sword looks cool but just because it looks cool doesn't mean it makes any sense at all, Like with instant transmission goku gives a explanation of how he learned it from a different race of aliens that taught him how to use it
