I literally did the same thing about 4 months ago but with a ps5 slim and a series x. I spent years building, overclocking, benchmarking, tuning etc on pcs and after switching to controller on cod, ended up with a ps5 in a parts trade deal. Started playing on the ps5 and fell in love with it and never looked back. Only pc I have now is my MacBook pro for work lol. All gaming done is on console or quest now.

@corybrakebill7325 sounds like you should have tried steam deck. You'd keep your game library but have a much more console like experience. Or you can even get an rog ally z1ex or ally x and install bazzite on it. It's a great option. I'm honestly running the ally x through armory crate and using hibernate. I don't even tune it or mod it, but it runs wonderfully for me. The steam deck is like a console honestly but with your steam library. There's an advantage to have both anyway. For example silent hill 2 last I checked runs much better on ps5 cause there's tons of issues plaguing a lot of pc users.

Buying the pro when you have a ps5 already is like upgrading your gpu one model like from rx 7700xt to rx 7800xt, not huge jump when you already have the step down, its a powerful machine and not a rip off like ppl are saying. Also mind you developers havnt had a ton of time to make use the new features, they rushed it to launch before christmas without bunch game support to launch with it yet. Some games the ray tracing and stutters being gone are huge improvements N others can barely tell rn, like 6 months from now im excited to see what the pro can do compared to pc(amd has had to fix drivers to get full performance with rdna every generation so far dont see how this any different from that)

Bro welcome to the team, you made the right choice😅 it's nothing but fun games on this side. You don't have to worry about updating drivers or configuring the settings for every game. Just great performance and graphics every time. Plus you got the new first party games early you don't have to wait a year before it to come to PC. Gaming should be fun not stressful.

Nothing more , it’s takes less than 5 minutes and you only get an update like maybe once every few months. Console also has software updates , it’s the exact same thing. Sadly this console coupled with the pro controller IS the original ps 5. The software in the start up will give a hint to that. It’s just that The tech was just a little too early for its time because the games hadn’t caught up or they had to work out more bugs and sold you the plate monster instead or it just wasn’t finished and the other console bought more time . Personally, I think it had more to do with the economics of the time, which was Covid and folks just wasn’t ready to pay this pricetag for it then.. they’re still not but more doing it anyway

Because I was recording the footage and needed the sound to pass through on HDMI…when I used the INZONE H9’s I got no sound on recording as it went to the headphones. That’s the only reason but I’ve been using the H9’s off camera when not recording gameplay. They sound good

I recently switched to PC, and I have to say that unless you have a low-end PC, the PS Pro can't compete with most PCs. I recently upgraded my setup, but my previous specs were a Ryzen 5 5600X with an RTX 3090 graphics card, 32 GB of DDR4 3200 RAM, and 2.5 TB of SSD storage. There’s nothing a PS Pro could handle that my old PC couldn't. To me, it's ridiculous that people would spend $900 on a console and accessories; instead, they could build a PC. I can run 98% of games at 4K, over 60 frames per second, fully maxed out. The ray tracing on the PS Pro is nothing compared to what I can achieve, and I'm not even discussing my latest upgrades. PlayStation fans may want a reason to upgrade, which is fine, but comparing it to PC is unfair; they are simply in different leagues.

Only issue i have with Sony is that all the accessories that you want for the Pro are not in stock anywhere because of scalpers. They need to make it more available. Listen folks. It amazes me that so many people are extremely upset about the PS5 Pro. It’s intended for a specific audience that is willing to pay more for the best console PlayStation can offer this generation. Think of it roughly like comparing a Honda Accord with an Acura TSX. You are wrong about future proofing though as they mainly focus on older remastered titles while newer titles float around 50 fps and only get lower. If a game isn't optimized it really doesn't benefit much from it. future proofing should mean it can work with future games and actually not struggle with them. the ps5 pro will struggle with any new game even as early as next year.

I like what Sony has done here, although im still not sure the cost warrants it. With that said there are still so many that are misinformed and lack understanding about the PlayStation hardware. You are not getting 4k 120hz on major titles. Not even with the Pro. In higher frame rates its between 1080 and 1440p depending on the title. And even when its 4k, it's an upscaled version of a lower res that has graphics features stripped down to get to its targets. Please stop comparing it to PC. Its a night and day difference as far as tech used to get performance. Digital Foundry breaks all this down, you don't have to take my word for it

Well if you have an NVIDIA gpu if you run reflex low latency, it helps with that but DLSS balanced or performance with little sharpening or you can instead simply turn on variable rate shading, but then with either choice also keeping texture filter anisotropic low, detail quality normal, turning off ambient occlusion, and tesellation off.

I'm ultimately glad that I didn't end up getting one. There's just too many "Pro upgrades" that are barely noticeable. Like, playing games upscaled from below 1080p is kind of insane for a Pro. Mind you, the PS4 Pro released for the same price the original PS4 released 3 years later. The PS5 Pro is 40% more than the PS5 with a disc drive, minus the disc drive and not a whole lot of games to show it off. We shouldn't reward them for being half assed. Even if I was PS5 only it wouldn't seem like a worth while upgrade now.

Console gaming is just pure 4 gamers that are not interested in what pc has to offer, and just want to chill and game. Also, these consoles did a pretty good job with performance considering the price.

Well said 🙏, Though I will disagree on the Pro being more Cost effective part imo . Most people have Decent PC builds for under $1000 that’ll do more for you than the pro can for $750. The Average persons build isn’t even super expensive, like a little under the $1000 Range and can also rely on upscaling to match whatever the pro can do plus more since PCs aren’t restricted platforms like consoles. The Pro doesn’t even get a stable 60fps on most games without dips. Not to mention if u factor in a Stand, Disk drive , plus online subscriptions that “$750” console is now more expensive than the average PC and well over $1000.

Console gaming is much easier for me now with a toddler and an infant. The Pro was a no brainer for me since I do miss the higher quality and I wanted to give my base PS5 to my oldest son. So I decided to get a pro instead of another base 5. I’m enjoying it!

I have a Xbox Series X, Gaming Laptop and Steam Deck….and as soon as they announce anything for this so-called “Xbox Handheld” I’m all for it lol

Sony always know how to get you on the extras 😂 Also is it just me or does the PS always look better on a Sony TV? I have had them all, and I remember my PS3, I used it with a Samsung TV, then got a Bravia, and it was night and day. Crazy. The Pro looks good though. Everyone was telling me that the gfx improvements weren't noticeable, but I could always tell which was the PS5 and which was the Pro. So I dunno... totally worth the money if you are into console gaming. Sony usually have some good exclusives. I am not sure with this Gen, and since the PS4 everything is x86 so I think we will see less exclusives and the focus will be on console features and peformance, etc.

700 is nutso by the way. Used to be able to get a TUF 3060 for 650 off Zon i figured thatd be fine to Hdmi out. Only problem is no tv has display port yet.
