Amazing to see how a claddagh is made by hand. i have always loved wearing both claddagh rings and jewellery (& I am currently wearing two silver rings and one gold diamond necklace and one red and clear cubic zirconia claddagh cross which is gold plated sterling silver) I am indeed part Irish, but i was as a child more drawn to it for it's symbolism, than it just being from my heritage.

Incredible! I am working my way towards training in goldsmithing and jeweller work. I'm not entirely sure where to begin. But the claddagh ring has always had a place in my heart ❤️ as I've always loved my Irish heritage.

How come the maker of the ring didn't get his name mentioned
@AJ-zr4fc5 жыл бұрын
I believe his name is Andrew. It is the jewelers' lot to be the unnamed spirit behind the glory of the work.

Would you make one of these rings with gold supplied by the customer?
@CeramicQuill5 жыл бұрын
I cant speak for this company, but you would end up loosing alot of gold. Not because of the goldsmith taking it, most turns to dust, or some stays on the crucible. Just letting you know. So when you weigh the gold before and and after, including the melted down little peices, there will be a miniscule (albeit significant) difference. If you are wondering where it is or want the difference back, it's floating in the smith's lungs.

Why did you use laser and then the torch?
@andrewtobin75386 жыл бұрын
Laser only wouldn't have held joint when bending using bow closing pliers....laser makes metal very brittle...combined with hard solder makes metal more mallable...pieces were 3mm and 2mm thick...

It is bad luck to buy a ring for your self but what about replacing a stolen ring? My dad was half Irish and left me his Claddagh ring and a watch when he past away... I was only 19 at the time and the ring was too big for me so I kept it on top of a mirror frame in my bedroom, had a few "mates" round one night and my ring got stolen :( I'm 30 now I never got my ring back what are my options since buying one for your self is traditionaly bad luck? I have 3 half Iris half sisters I was thinking of maybe paying for the ring but having one of my sister buy it for me again? Would really appreciate some help from any true IRISH out there as to how to go about this situation and avoid the 'buying for yourself bad luck'? :( Thanks
