I agree and I’m sure a lot of fans have said this but this series is almost like the Reincarnated as a Villainess series with Catarina aka Bakarina the only difference that the MC reincarnated as the heroine and she’s solely in love with the villainess and everyone knows it. It’s not the same with Bakarina who is accidentally making an all-harem.

Hopefully a second season comes out. The story gets way better and complex which they hint it a bit at the end of the episode. Honestly they could finish the main story in season 2 which funny enough is a shift in tone in terms plot which again they hinted at the end of episode. Its definitely the hidden gem of the season and season 1 is basically the prologue of the show. So hopefully it gains some traction since a lot of good shows came out and this one kind of got buried as a result.

I think they were always kind of hoping for this. When Rod got Rae to join the Academy Knights, it was by promising her she could "protect Miss Claire" from monsters. And when Rae asked Miss Claire for head pats, all three princes were like "Do it, Claire". That's still one of the best scenes in the show.

i cant imagine there not being at least a S2 for this anime. Between the promise of the French Revolution and the fact Claire doesnt actually begin her villain redemption arc until the next chapter of the books, theres a ton of material to work with. Hell weve even gotten an early preview of Cardinal Lily Lilium the lesbian nun. Meanwhile Loretta and Pepe remain undeveloped and i cant see the Manga's Dodgeball chapter not getting animated since it naturally moves the characters into the next two major characterization plots and gives actual characterization directly to Lily, Loretta, and Pepe

The thing is if manaria is telling the truth. Rae wouldn’t have loved her back because she took things to far many times. Rae liked Claires bullying because she could have taken it further but refused to. Manaria didnt have that problem. Look at the duel between her and Rae. She used what is considered the most vile spell in the setting that literally tortures the opposing mage and drains them of mana. When she had the skills to beat rae with less pain. And if also she was doing it to get them together she still took things way to far. She could have chosen not to go for the flower. As far as anyone knew the flower was the top. Leaving zero chance in her mind of rae winning. Their is a lot of flaws in her logic. Making me think that was obviously going for claire herself. But its hard to tell if claire would have accepted such an outcome considering she saw what happened to Rae and such. She generally hates watching those she loves get hurt.
