Bruh, “Miss Taylor” hurt so hard. It’s legit the “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed” parent moment. Also, I really love the characterization of Claire. Amazingly written as the rich villainess archetype with a heart of gold. I totally see why Rae was fascinated with her pre Isekai. Knowing the light novels, I know how this plays out, but man this moment hits.

@@tomrubira9750 this last arc of the anime season is the early part of the second book. It’s got more going on (I’m not caught up beyond the 2nd) but the anime kinda squished this arc to fill out the finale of S1. The got most beats, but the pacing is off. Read it for sure, from what I know, it progresses the relationships and goes beyond what you expect the main couple would do.

It's not even that. It goes even deeper. In an earlier episode, Rene asked Claire why she would never call Rae by her name and she basically said that she thinks Rae is making fun of her. She would only call Rae by her name if she stopped playing around and be honest with her. So with that in mind, this means that Claire truly believes that this is what Rae truly felt the whole time and she was just messing with her feelings for her own fun.

Such a beautifully written scene. Genuinely made me tear up a little bit. Both Rae & Claire's VAs sounded amazing here and Claire using the honorific "san" hit me so hard (1:50).

When we talked about Poesia Amour and I said it was wrong for the priestess to make the two princes fight each other over her, that that was something a 'villainess' would do, you disagreed. The moment she finally uses her name. It's as she said before, she would only do it if she felt Rae was honest with her and stopped playing around. Sadly enough, it's the opposite, but Claire has enough reason to believe that Rae never actually was serious.

That's the power status for you, Claire probably has rose-colored glasses on for Manaria and puts her on a "can do nothing wrong" pedestal. Rae being a commoner doesn't have that rank, so. while it would be difficult to talk with Manaria over something "childish" as the stakes of a duel (unknown to her) it wouldn't be as difficult to confront Rae over her change in demeanor. Not only that, but Rae is walking off a serious injury, which doesn't add pleasantly to the change in mood.

She didn’t seem to once consider the Villianess, after years of being cruel, and getting everything she wanted, would get tired of being hated deep down. Rae just brushing Clair off, and abandoning her like everyone else always does, it just reinforced how she *knows* people feel towards her. She’s a bully, a rich snob that treats everyone bandy. She could’ve been mean the whole time to Rae to test her. To see if she wouldn’t be scared off too. But, Rae just confirms it for Claire. Again, she’s left alone. With no real friends, and a family that didn’t give her what she needed, it’s no wonder she’s the villianess. Even Rae, became convinced by the game’s narrative to feel Clair never wanted her. But consider this, she’s spent her whole life in this position, it could be all she knows. She may not have known how to show such genuine affection to someone. Much less a girl, as the narrative always has her left behind by the mc, who chooses one of the three nails suitors.

I get that Rae is hurting here but the way she acted was completely immature.
