While Clancy wasn’t exactly what I expected I feel that Brad just had Trench 2 in his mind and as soon as it didn’t sound like that he just threw away the idea that this album could be good on its own.
@alextihor1190Ай бұрын
Exactly, he constantly voiced how this is supposed to be trench again. I mean if youre expecting that vibe and style of writing again of course youre not going to enjoy this lighter stuff
@2002TMGАй бұрын
I mean it’s also hard to not understand him cause this album was being sold as big lore Trench 2 vibes from the beginning of the promotion of the álbum because the band itself said that this was the most direct album of the lore and big finale of the lore, it was just misleading giving the general audience expectations on the sound of the album to be like Trench 2 and it was something that it was on its own

Can agree with some things: album is too all over the place; it has too little lore, and when it’s there it feels too dumpy; some songs are maybe a bit too saturated, and some a little bland. But it is not that bad, it’s not even bad at all. Sure it isn’t Trench, and there are obvious lacks. Nevertheless it is still a solid collection of songs. Maybe a 7-8/10
@KingNyanCatАй бұрын
Bruh, brad decided he didn't like this album by the 4th song. His attitude came off as very disingenuous, and he was more focused on dunking on the album than actually giving it the same grace he gave Trench. If he listened to trench for the first time today, he would've hated it with this mindset. I understand a few of his complaints, like how chaotic this album is, but there a lot of shocking takes in here.

If Cut My Lip were on Clancy it’d be the worst thing ever, and if At The Risk Of Feeling Dumb were on Trench it’d be the best thing ever. I mean listen to even Chlorine and tell me it’s a good song and doesn’t have the problems you had with many of these songs.
@JustAHuman101Ай бұрын
EXACTLY. (I do like Chlorine tho)

Exactly what I was thinking, CML sucked ahh, I don't care it's on Trench.
@jayp7552Ай бұрын
@@sunny.litty353i love cut my lip and at the risk of feeling dumb, its all preference, id say the reason trench is so beloved is because of the high the production quality is, the intentional cohesiveness of it all and how put-together the aesthetic is, i think Clancy does lack some of these aspects - (production especially) but it is not a bad album at all, id say its good even, but not amazing
@minkeymouce28 күн бұрын
Cut my lip (like all of the tracks in trench (except maybe smithereens) worked perfectly with each other and are entirely interwoven. Atrofd/Clancy are paceless and directionless. Besides, cml is a good-sounding song, and atrofd completely ruins any tonal consistency that the album AND the song pretended to have. Finally, chlorine is a good song that doesn’t have the problems that Clancy does. It’s expertly paced with five segments and styles. It’s very subtly mixed, which helps the big parts hit as hard as they do.
@minkeymouce28 күн бұрын
@@jayp7552 This is basically true, and I agree for the most part. Only problem is that atrofd is objectively worse than cml due to the glaring tonal inconsistency that cml completely lacks. But yeah, when it comes down to it, anyone can like any music they want and shouldn’t be shamed for it. Just don’t mistake preference for quality.

Gonna be honest. I've been a TØP fan for a long time. This album was slightly less disappointing than SAI. Is it because i wanted a Trench 2 and this wasnt close? Perhaps. But also this album all over the fucking place. did it have to be Trench 2? No, but goddamn you could have at least made a cohesive album. this was not it. Theres no lore, the songs are somewhere in-between Vanilla and French Vanilla. Dont get me wrong, some of them are good. Craving is beautiful, at risk of feeling dumb hits, and backslide is a vibe. But besides that all the other songs are the same with different lyrics. Brad, this is not Blurryface 2. Because at least blurryface had bangers. There are no bangers, and i know bangers.
