What do you suggest for a Pitta Kapha who is a non-secretor (of blood type antigen), therefore cannot handle anything with phytic acid (massive cavities will result if phytates are eaten) such as legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains? The only grain I can eat so far is basmati rice, since it has been milled, popcorn and popped amaranth. Had been eating milled wheat, such as cream of wheat, pasta, etc. But this is excluded in this presentation. I can eat vegetable peas, but not split peas or any other legume. Just eat what you can? I have been including poultry and fish, since I am not able to eat from a whole category of food which seems pretty important for Pitta Kapha, ie, bitter/astringent qualities, and, protein as well. Also, you did not mention ghee in this presentation. Do you consider it the same as butter in the dairy section?

Which chilli I should avoid? Dried red chilki, red chilli powder, paprika? Or even green chilli? Green is a good source of vitamin C.
@borkeninternet2 жыл бұрын
Depart from this "micro/macro" nutrition thinking. It's all based on The West mindset of "divide and conquer". Western doctors talk about vitamins. Ayurvedic doctors talk about food and supplements. "Vitamins" and "Minerals" are the western doctors attempt to solve health issues by applying protocols to everyone equally. Ayurveda is a departure from this line of thinking. What works for one, may not work for another.

My body is kapha type. Heavy, lazy, easy to gain weight, hard to loss. Most of the time I suffer from caught, Allergy, skin problems, excessive oily face and scalp. But also I have acidity, acid reflux, burning in my stomach, throat. Accute hair loss. I am confused, how to balanced both of this dosha??
@girishshah89299 ай бұрын
I have very similar health problems. I undergo vamana to rid my body of kafa doshas - skin disorders, laziness, cold etc. Will undergo appropriate panchkarma later this year to balance pitta and get rid of reflux. But reflux is already down by remarkable degree due to minimizing the sour and salty tastes that dominated my diet earlier. I have been consuming food with bitter and astringent tastes in recent months. That has also helped.
@varunvasan57974 жыл бұрын
My question is- After I feel good from following this,if I again start eating foods different can dual dosha reappear?can I eat different things in moderation after balancing dual doshas?
@Clareminded4 жыл бұрын
the doshas are ever changing. they're not only influenced by the foods we eat, but the music we listen to, environment we're in, mental stimulation, time of day and seasons. It's a constant eb and flow, so yes they can become out of balanced again. the idea behind the food lists is not to limit you, but to help you become more aware. Know what foods may help balance you. If you're feeling sluggish and tired, try opting for spiced oats for breakfast rather than sausage, eggs and toast. You can eat the foods mentioned as "no" on these lists, but know you have the tools to learn how to balance it through the 6 tastes. :)

There are seasons when kafa aggravates. Similar with pitta. I an pitta kafa. My vaidya (Doctor) has advised me to avoid certain foods in vasant season ( in Indian context, Feb+March+Apr, when nights are like winter and days are like summer). He recommends me to eat the same foods in the following Grishm season ( May, Jun, Jul) . I am advised to avoid sleeping during the days and staying up late in the nights and keep sleeping beyond sunrise. This lifestyle aggragates kafa.

Good information. Just learn this in my Ayurvedic clinicals buttermilk (real not from the store) is good for gastrointestinal imbalances of pitta and kapha manifesting as polyps or hemorrhoids. However there are several ways to prepare it for that use. Not a buttermilk biscuit. Also, sesame isn’t too heavy for kapha it’s too heating for pitta. Put cured sesame on the skin. Soak your dry fruit and nuts over night.

also, i really wonder the method behind finding what foods are good for each dosha... it seems a little fuzzy to me - do you understand the reason behind it or do you just memorise what each dosha should eat and not eat? i am totally pro ayurveda btw, i just have some questions :)
@girishshah89299 ай бұрын
It all boils down to 'Guna' (characteristics) of foods. Foods have rasa (tastes) They also have laghu= light to digest and Guru = heavy to digest , Further, those foods having tikshn properties can 'pierce' like thorns - an attribute useful to heal ulcerlike things. Shodhan property helps in purification/ cleansing. Shaman for suppressing/silencing. There are no contradictions - just it looks so to a layman. The practitioners operate from first principles of ayurveda. But they have to memorize only the shlokas (verses). Two lines of shlokas can sometimes pack a knowledge requiring one A4 page. I have been on ayurveda since childhood. I got cured of COVID by ayurvedic treatment at age 60. No post-treatment physical weakness was felt. Ayurveda works so well.

I am Pitta-Kapha & i am vegetarian & alcohol-free since 2010. I do drink 1 cacao-milk-coffee in the morning:-) use my protein smoothie with skimmed milk powder, also eat omelettes because i train weights everyday also yoga & meditation, i am 45 y.o. & my health has never been better. My weight training is of functional type outdoors: i use stell clubbells, macebells & kettlebells, burpees, resistance bands & jogging. This type of training keeps physical mobility at optimum range for yogic asana. I used to struggle more combining gym type of training with yoga practice, body would feel way more stiff after those limited range isolated machinery exercises.
