His legendary status was earned after his playing days, a really honest and strong bloke, as a footballer some may forget just how much he played, his time at villa was unfairly cut short, Lee was a constant feature in the middle for villa for years...picked up after Taylor and co, I remember the goal on his debut... I loved the way he played the game, 110%, aggressive, tenacious while being out sized by most.... proper villain this guy, nothing but love for him... UTV 💜💙🦁

Well said. Really played for the shirt, scored some wonderful goals and was a mainstay in the side for years. I always felt that he`d played for 1 of the more "fashionable"- media favoured teams that he would have got more England caps. Comes across very well does Lil Lee.

I got goosebumps when Lee was talking about his debut seeing his shirt with his name up!!! You can feel his buzzing still !!! .... such an honest down to earth geezer ....I hope Super Jack watched this interview and gabby's.... He will be a star wherever he goes but a legend forever if he stays at villa .....

Great interview. He was a top player. Definitely a player who should have been up there with Gerrard and Lamped. Amongst the best of his generation in England. He was that good at one stage.

You know your football, I remember when him and lampard were coming through and I always thought he had the more natural ability but lampard really worked at his game and became one of the best midfielders in the world could you imagine how good lee would have been if he had that same desire? I'm not saying he didn't work hard but he definitely could have been something very special I agree with you.

I left Washwood Heath school a year before Lee was born. But I remember Mr Mortiboys - also mentioned in a David Harewood documentary, very well. He was also an excellent history teacher, giving me a life long love of the subject. Is he still alive? Great interview, great player who should have achieved more with the talent he had. Pleased about his successful media career though. Thanks for the memories Lee. A true Villa man.

Great insight into life as a professional footballer. He was a brilliant player - always gave 100% and a touch of class. Hope Lee reads these positive comments. He's been through a lot and has battled his demons. His punditry on Sky is very good - let's hope he gets to do lots more matches on Villa in the Premier League! UTV!
