4k miles ago I had my last prepaid service with dodge. Today I'm finally gonna get my hands dirty and do it myself. Tomorrow we are going to the strip with fresh oil. This was a great instructional video for first time oil changers!

Hey man, really loved the video. I have a 2008 Dodge Charger R/T and I plan on changing the oil soon. I just had two questions if you could please help me out. What size oil filter wrench attachment is that in the video and where did you get those pinch weld pads? I bought some pinch weld jack pads on amazon but they’re too big to latch on like that in the video so I was looking for help on what size/where to get the ones from the video cause they look like they fit perfect. Please let me know thank you! Awesome video 👍🏾
@n-power-automotive5 жыл бұрын
Ill have to check the wrench size I don’t know it off the top of my head. The pinch weld pad is actually too big so I had to trim it down with a hacksaw.

Nice job - how many miles did you put on the RT before your last catch can drain? That was a healthy amount in there.

Thanks. Yes, those are Dodge wheels. I bought them off of someone from the online forum called LXForums, but now they have a Facebook page called LX Swap Meet you should check out.

The video and tips were great and your R/T looks awesome. I really like your safety tips. Just curious, I heard the transmission fluid doesn't require to be changed from some, while others say it should be changed regardless if it's a German transmission or not, do you change your tranny fluid or perform any other maintenance on the tranny? The company you work for is very lucky to have you. Thanks
@n-power-automotive5 жыл бұрын
Thanks you! I have not changed the transmission fluid *yet. Yes some say it’s lifetime fluid, but there’s no harm in changing it I wouldn’t think. What I have heard that’s bad is flushing it. You never want to do that, just a drain and fill is the best option.

The dealer put 5w-20 conventional not full synthetic in my car, which one is it supposed to be???
@n-power-automotive6 жыл бұрын
drew Till I believe only the SRTs specifically get synthetic from the dealership, otherwise they will likely use conventional oil unless you specify and ask for synthetic.

I got 120k miles on mine should I use high Milage mobile one ?
@n-power-automotive4 жыл бұрын
You could. I actually switched to Penzoil Platinum since making this video and I feel like I have less valve train noise using it vs Mobil1. But regardless I’m not sold on the high mileage oils but I haven’t really looked into them much either.

Mobil 1? You may want to use it but you should tell people it doesn't meet Spec. Chrysler MS-6395 and will void warranty should any engine issues arise.
@n-power-automotive6 жыл бұрын
Steven Greco didn’t know anything about that until I Googled it. Looks like its for some 13 and up Dodges but not sure which vehicles it applies to. As far telling people, well, this isn’t an official Dodge video so I think viewers realize its their own responsibility to research which oil is correct for their vehicle.
@stevengreco64666 жыл бұрын
I felt it's worth putting it out there for you and everyone else. Chysler would love to void a warranty especially if the issue is related to the MDS system... Not that anyone should care but my personal picks would be... Good - Pennzoil Synthetic Better - Pennzoil Ultra Synthetic Best - Amsoil 100% Signature Synthetic.

Great video!! I agree that Purolator filters are a good, have you ever checked out the forum Bob is the oil guy? Lots of good oil/filter info on there. Good tips on jacking, I had to look that info up when I got my Charger in Oct. and had to put the winter wheels on.
@n-power-automotive6 жыл бұрын
Daytona 5.7 thanks man! I have checked the Bob the Oil Guy website out before. Like I mentioned people have so many varying opinions about what oil and filters to run. It can be confusing trying to decide on brands. I’ve had good luck with Purolator and Mobil1 so I’ll stick with them.
@daytona5.7226 жыл бұрын
Those are very solid choices, you are correct there are many different opinions. My mother in law has run Mobil 1 in her Jeep Cherokee since she purchased it and now has over 200k and it runs great.

This is such a joke trying to find the factory replacement filter for my 2021 charger r/t 5.7. Every site has a different number and says the number from the last site won’t fit. 4892339be. 04884899ab. 04884899ac.4892339be again. Lastly 5038041AA is said to be compatible but the higher quality srt version. This is crazy!
