Hello, I am a Pass Labs fan, I have tried the Primaluna EVO400 and other tube stuff but in the last few months I tried the First Watt Sit-4…with a Pass Preamp…that is the best amp with my Volti speakers I have ever had…if you get a chance grab a Sit-4 …not the other First Watt amps…Chuck in Puyallup

Hi Chuck... Just got one in for review, anxious to really tear into it. I have a SIT-2 and have reviewed quite a few of the First Watt amps. Anxious to see what Nelson has come up with on this one! Thanks.

@@toneaudio178 talking with Nelson he said the SIT-4 is like the SIT-2…..I had a bad experience with Primaluna, I had a EVO 400 amp and preamp…when I first received it right away after about 4 hours it would make a awful loud pop and then nothing for hours then it would do it again…customer support didn’t help me..this went on for a year then the amp would blow a fuse when I turned it on and almost every day a red light by the tube..getting tired of holding my breath every time I turned it on I replaced the EL34 tubes as then died…I put it up for sale on offer-up to my surprise a local guy came over and bought all my extra tubes and the Primaluna stuff, amp,preamp and Primaluna Dac at a fair price for both parties.. Before I sold it I was talking to Nelson Pass,and I always was interested in his gear. My speakers are efficient, at that time the Klipsch Heritage speakers. I wanted the SIT-4 but production was set back so I bought the Pass XA-25,this is a great amp for the Klipsch speakers which I still have, then my birthday came around this year so I bought the Sit-4…this is the most glorious sounding amp I have ever had and at 71 I have had a few amps…Next came the Volti Audio speakers, with the Pass Labs XP-12 preamp and the Sit-4 it took my system to NIRVANA big time..all I do is stream with the Denafrips Venus 12 anniversary Dac and the Magna Mono ultra mkIII farad streamer from the Netherlands…one thing great about the Pass gear is it’s so reliable and quiet, no hiss or noise of any kind when you turn it off and on …great stuff you can leave on and not worry…worth every penny…tubes never again for me…

That's a lot of money for just about everyone. Not just many. These are really weird looking speakers. What size room roomdo these speakers belong in?
@toneaudio1782 ай бұрын
As I mentioned in the clip, these are meant for a fairly big room. Mine is 24 x 36. About a year ago when I first started talking to Mike at Suncoast, who is the importer for Clarisys, I didn't have a room this size and we were discussing one of the smaller pairs. But when I knocked down all the walls in my space to make one big listening room, this made itself a possibility. I realize that $150k is a lot of money for speakers, but in terms of Wilson, Focal, Magico and a number of others, this isn't even mid way up the range, so this is who this particular review is aimed at. Clarysis makes three smaller models from about 20k to 70k/pair. You can read more at www.clarisysaudio.com They all share the same design and basic sonic signature, with slightly less LF extension and maximum dynamic output, and are optimized for smaller rooms.
