Holy crap 😳! Congratulations on learning this dude ! :) I love Protest the Hero especially Fortress. I need to listen to more of their music. The chords and time changes are so zany in this song haha 4:45 . I love this sweeping section

Sick man! I seriously thought you were Luke for a second at the beginning of the vid, haha. Not a chance that I could play through this whole song, but that section that starts at 3:55 is genuinely one of my favorite things in the world to play, PTH really know when to shred and when to groove, lol. Kudos on nailing the whole fucking song!

Thanks! It was definitely super challenging! All the little variations killed me, and I never quite nailed the end of the chorus, but it was really rewarding to learn all the way through.

Hah, thanks! Teles are great for metal, maybe not at stage volume, but they're so direct and defined! I tried this with an Ibanez with SD Nazgul/Sentient set and this just sounded clearer.

Amazing playing and clean. Was wondering how did you shift the key from the backing track up a half step from the recording to avoid having tune down?

Amazing job. Did you do it all by ear? Your style is very relaxed, you don't waste energy in your movement. Really good control/technique. Great song, truly. Thanks man. You've done it a good bit better than the other attempts I've heard. Keep up the awesome job. But that's probably easy, if music is food for your soul the way it is for me. Take care and best of luck. *boyfriend of the account holder commenting.*
@kennethbelsham29583 жыл бұрын
Thanks! No, I used the official tab (although some of the official tab is actually wrong!). I’m glad it comes across as controlled, it was a lot of work to get to this point. I never quite got the chorus, which is frustrating, but I should pick it back up.

@@kennethbelsham2958 i heard, but that's way better than anyone I've jammed with. I'm a drummer, and I've followed them a long time. If you've heard of Car Bomb, that's where my heart is.... but I love pretty much all complex heavy music. But anyway, hey... even IF you WERE flying by the seat of your pants on the chorus and some other leads, your technique hides it well. Truly, I wish you lived in Tucson, Arizona. You're significantly better than most guitarists around here. And too many of them are arrogant, while you come off as quite humble. So yeah, amen. Few things feel as good as figuring out and successfully playing along to your favorite songs. Best of luck moving forward. *boyfriend of the account holder commenting.*

@@kennethbelsham2958 ps. ...REALLY cool choice on the telecaster too, by the way. Unusual, due to the tradtionally thinner sound. Do you kmow what year it is? I personally feel thay aged wopd, vintage gear, cannot be beat in tone quality. Either way, I'm sure the tele helps you stand out among those who play metal. You're literally the first I've seen who has chosen the telecaster.... most metal guys won't even go with a strat..... I'm currently trying to restore a 70s vintage Gibson Explorer. So I'm hoping it does the job as well as my 70s Ludwigs. Have a good one.
