You have really nailed it. I am a doctor. In govt service My wife was a doctor in pvt My son and daughter in law are doctors. It is a struggle in life. We have to forget about personal life. In my opinion you become a doctor if you want to become a doctor and not to become a doctor for financial reasons

My wife is a doctor. I don't spend any time with her. No meals, no talking, no sitting down with music on. She has to plan vacations long in advance. She has to be on-call, work late, listen to complaints about her staff, google reviews, review test results and answer online messages. This is the US I am telling you about. Her own medical insurance was so bad, she opted to completely drop it and come on to my plan. And after all that - her employer says that her clinic loses money every year. The money is good but when I look at stress and the loans she had, if she had shares in a tech startup might have come out ahead.
@kishorerajurkar2271
@kishorerajurkar2271 Жыл бұрын
@@rohitnijhawan5281 I am surprised a doctor in US is not happy. About 30 of my classmates are in US ,UK or other countries. They have so much money that they don't know what to do with that. Although the medical insurance is high but still the average earnings of a doctor is atleast 5 times that of a average American. Time management also can be done by restricting your practice or office hours
@rohitnijhawan5281
@rohitnijhawan5281 Жыл бұрын
@@kishorerajurkar2271 I didn't say there was unhappiness. I just said that as her spouse, I do not get much time with her and it's a stressful job with long hours. Indeed the money is good. So much so that looking at my own IT career I feel that this persistent shortage they talk about (of labor) is an industrial ploy to depress wages across the board. The medical licensing monopoly in the US is one of the worst (save maybe for Canada's). If it wasn't for the AMA and state boards of medical licenses, the education itself isn't worth anything thus doctors command mountainous salaries. As a result the effect trickles in for every single person who has to live in this society. If you want a doctor's appointment, you have to either wait (in Canada) or pay extra. Doctors themselves and their families can fall victim of this structure. The whole thing isn't much different from taxi license plates which uber and lyft busted open. The doctors' monopoly can't be challenged even by european physicians. However, the government expects that hospitals that take government insurance must ultimately treat everyone who comes through and thus the stress and workload is high. US Physicians especially after Obamacare was passed have mostly started working as employees moreso than run their own individual practice. You can't just "restrict" yourself to 15 patients a day 3 days a week just because you feel like it.

As a doctor, I can confirm everything he said in this video. Reward for the youth that you loose is very less. Ever since I thought about becoming a doc after my 10th exam, I have always been in some kind of stress. School Exam stress, NEET stress, College exams stress (passing in MBBS finals is difficult in govt colleges), getting a good job stress, PG stress. I am still MBBS graduate and doing a 9-5 job, but stress level for pg is still high. I don't know when this struggle in life will end. My friends are earning 100-200k USD is USA while I am stuck here with a salary 1/10th of their salary, while I was regarded as the brightest kid in school.

I don't want my kid to follow this profession, I am encouraging my kid to do anything except this profession. I watch my school mates, they are happy and earning good. Most of them have earned enough for their kids and I am still practicing. Only rich parents and parents who have established hospitals or big clinics should ask their kids to be doctor. I was the first kid from my family (including previous 10 generations) who not only succeeded to finish my college, but also became doctor. There is no doctor in my family, not even in relatives, or relative of those relatives. So none of my parents had any commercial space or shop or even a small piece of land for my future. I was forced to join jobs. Please don't think to be a doctor if you have no doctor in your family or if you belong to a middle class.

Medical Profession is in ultimate nadir in India. When no sanctity of exams like Neet Ug/ pg left we can see where things have gone. Reasons are multifactorial.Talent is already running away from this profession. Yes it’s a thankless job in India. You don’t get your dues. People who were average in school have done much better than you in other professions. Private Medical practice is mostly cut based / dalali based. Even if you are most talented/ meritorious doctor if you don’t pay dalali patients will not come to you. Hard work and expertise of doctors are used by hospitals and online apps like Practo etc etc.Its a scary situation where in coming days you will have only Munna Bhais in Medical profession. So Society deserves that as it never valued Medical profession.

There can be someone who decides to go for MBA just for some extra learning of administration in medicine. But according to me, my peers and friends, medicine in itself is a core package and does not need any other degree or change in path. And personally I do not know a single person or my friends who are trying for some other profession except medicine.

True...... Its risky...as it was during covid.... without reward.....and payment per hour of work input is very less for new doctors......it is very stressful.....i m a surgeon. I m became surgeon due to passion. Without this passion i would have given up. Patients are thank less. I have saved more than 100 life in my emergency surgeries but very few have thanked me. And countless have screamed at me. I still carried on because of my satisfaction... And people feel the hospital bill goes entirely to hospital.... The truth is we don't even get proper 20% of the bill from private hospitals. Then working in govt....it feels disappointing to see violence against our community for small thing. Those 100 saved lives are never counted against 1 life if we are unable to save. Whenever my patients say i m like God to them..... I deny it and tell them to consider me human.... I don't want b counted like god. I don't want doctors to be noble profession. People expect us to treat for free....why do they not ask private hospitals to treat them for free. Patients forget we have a family too .. and life... And responsibilities.... And this profession brings food for my family....i cannot treat them for free.... Nobody has ever given me free food/consultation just because i m doctor. Thank you for speaking out our pain. 🙏

The most important thing that you said for people who have already entered the field is " mai doctor hoon mai in sab se upar hoon ye bawale log kuch nahi samjhenge mere kam ko " . I think that should be the spirit and very few tends to hold on to it for along time . Also i think the problem lies in the mentality of the society which thinks doctor means paisa hi paisa ...and they unknowingly guide their near and dear ones to this profession with not so good mindset. I bet only 2 % from our community achieves what is repeatedly told in the society but i also agree with the fact that if you love the profession and you are getting a salary of 1lakh per month then thats good enough because many of people who are in the mnc don't have that humanity element and satisfaction which our job holds. Final message for the people who are out there : don't enter this field just for money you will highly regret it when you will be paid 30k after becoming a doctor 😅.

Hello i want to ask you i mean Which type of passion required in this field? I also wanna become doctor but I also like to do art just as hobby & when I do it i enjoy the process of art it's like when I do it i don't get tired infact it gives me more energy and also excites me . Does this same happened with you when u study in medicine. Actually I have self doubt if i join medical field i will enjoy the process or not and we all know it's great profession but mujhe aesa lgta hai if i join this field mai iss field k sath justice kr paungi ya nhi khud k sath justice kr paungi ya nhi i don't know . Actually I have given ug exam also i didn't perform well reason lack of awareness and not study that much it required and also as a person I m hard working but jitna Mai hard work krti hu results doesn't came that way it's like kitna bhi bhago kuch bhi nhi hone wala but now it's not only about exams it's also about empathy , analytical skills, patience and lots of things . Mere father bhi doctor hai and he is great and some of my friends are also are medicos one thing I have found common in my father and friends is that they are very quick and i think vo quickness i think mere ander km hai for that field . I have only one concern i don't wanna invest my energy and time in those things in which i can't do well overall i don't want to waste my energy and time.. And i always respect medical field the passion they have it's great..
