In this video, I take the top off a CLARK 285V Transmission. It has been sitting outside for years! I plan to diasassemble it in a future video and take you along.
These were used in Ford F-600 and F-750 trucks in the 1960s and '70s (and also used in other trucks). Many mechanics like these strong, reliable manual transmissions for their modern-day projects. They came bolted up to 361 and 391 V-8 engines but can be adapted to fit many others, including diesels. They are 5-speed with two power take offs possible. Let's have a quick look inside...
