i just wish he trusted lex. lex just wanted to have a friend and to be trusted by the people he cares about

I think the problem with that theory is that in the end, Lex would have used Clark’s powers to his advantage.

I think Clark inherited Johnathan's distrust for people like Lex which got in the way of their friendship

Because of Jonathan and Clark’s skeptic distrusting of telling Clark’s secret in the lies after Lex tried too prove worthy too the Kent’s he isn’t in the same level as Lionel in abuse of power isn’t the same as Lionel’s but becomes worse when no longer being nice after being rebuke in accuse that isn’t quite true, still get rejected when trying to reach out won’t let him in which his feelings were hurt, their friendship fell apart, no longer trust each other in S5 when decided to put into a test letting prisoners out and turns evil which is partially Clark’s fault

Everything that exists has a specific nature, each entity exists as something in particular and has characteristics that are part of what it is. "A" is "A". And no matter what reality he calls home, "Luthor" is "Luthor". -The Question😎 Clark was smart to not trust Lex. Lex's been evil before he was saved by Clark on that bridge.

"If you were an Alien would you go around telling people about it" 😂 The way lex said that 😂

I truly believe that if Clark had told Lex about his secret, things would have turned out far differently. Lex always had the suspicion that Clark was never truly being honest with him, he just didn't understand to what capacity or about what. One could argue that maybe even he didn't realize it on a conscious level. But because Clark was never willing to fully trust Lex between Seasons 1 - 4, it eventually became too late when Lex finally had enough of people treating him the same.

Lex: "Come on, Clark: if you were an alien, would you go around telling people about it?" Clark: "I guess not." How different things might have been if he'd told just one more person. Admittedly, mistrusting Lex Luthor isn't a terrible gut instinct, but finding out he'd been held outside of Clark's circle of trust all the time he kept trying to be Clark's friend was the turning point that ended up being the biggest factor in his turn to his darker side.

I was sad tbh, he had great moments in the show when he wasn't a villain

Did you watch the show ? Lex was manipulative and tried underhanded tactics if you had a friend that. Had some personal issues they wouldn't. Tell you would that stop you from being there friends? Let's be honest we don't share everything with everyone until we feel comfortable enough to say.

How is what he did any better than Lana or Chloe trying to weasel out his secrets? At least he has an excuse: he learned all that off his dad. They don't.

@@daniellelawman9724 This is why he fell so hard for Lois, ultimately. She was the only one who pulled herself up whenever she might have become pushy. She waited for him to come to her. What a perfect companion for Clark.

Lex's releasing freak criminals to put Clark on test damaged their relationship, but getting in love for the same woman was the breaking point.

The look they shared at 4:28, that could have been it, the start of Clark at least being honest about his powers, if not his origins. Damn, I wish the show's writers hadn't hit the reset button by wiping Lex's memory!
