Does Jonathan really think that Clark would use his powers when he is out on the field that’s insane he wouldn’t do that and Jonathan acts like he doesn’t trust Clark

Clark's powers aren't an on/off switch, they're a muscle, and he has to throttle it to normal. The entire series is about him trying to CONTROL his powers and balance his humanity with his destiny.

In John Bryne's comic miniseries "The Man of Steel" (1986), which you could argue Smallville and a lot of Superman media since then has taken a lot of influence from, there is another reason why Johnathan Kent disapproved of Clark playing football. It wasn't about trust, but the fact that Clark was deliberately using his powers to put himself above others on the football field, causing a lot of the other players on both teams to feel resentful and envious of Clark. Johnathan wanted Clark to understand that his powers shouldn't put him above anybody else at the expense of others.
