John Schneider was the perfect choice to play Johnathan Kent. He could show the compassion and also the steel that was needed for the part.

@@luisdorado8562 that's because that's what you let yourself think once you stop it you will be proud of yourself that you get to help and you won't give up, and you need some confidence believe me I used to feel the same way but now I don't anymore and no matter how ungrateful a person can be towards me I help them. Just keep doing it no matter what and you will unlock confidence.

The think I don't think people understand is that in Smallville, Clark was Superman all along, he just didn't have a suit. The suit is not what makes him Superman. It never was what made him Superman. It was never even the powers. What makes Clark Kent Superman is what he believes in and fights for, and stands for. It's what he believes to be right and fair, what he does for Earth.

@crazyman7671
@crazyman7671 Жыл бұрын
Yeah. Jor-El acts like a dick at first but we find out later that it was simply because he knew Clark was nearly ready to be Superman and finally fly, but knew the danger that Darkseid posed to all that and that Darkseid could exploit Clark's dark choices. Clark had to know that the edge he flirted with in S9 was going to now get people killed. Clark had to hit the proverbial rock bottom to build himself back the right way. Hence in 10x02, he ditches the black for the red and blues again and finally succeeding enough to where Darkseid physically attacks him and this allows Clark to finally reach full power

"We're all confronted with trials, but the true measure of a man is how he chooses to react in the face of those trials." That's true. It's important to remember that before reacting that every action or reaction has consequences. That's why it is so important, especially now more than ever, to THINK prior to doing. Never just act or react. ALWAYS THINK FIRST. What you do will dictate the course of your life, and will affect those around you, either for good or bad.

Me. I didn't watch Crisis, just the clip about Smallville. They completely screwed this up. The all point of Smallville was about Clark becoming Superman. What was the point of take the bother and go through all sort of trial if eventually He would have give up his powers? He could have done that long time ago couldn't He? The way they deal with Clark's powers doesn't make sense : He can't just lose them like if they were to be magical properties. The fact that He lives on Earth, grants Him powers, which cannot be lost unless He moves to another solar system. Why is not kryptonite affecting Him? Powers or not powers He remains a kryptonian, therefore kryptonite should affect him physically.

Costner Jonathan Kent was terrible.... no depth and not effective at all, his Jonathan portrayed the type of father that wanted to hold his son back from the man he could be or become.... Didn't want Clark to embrace his destiny. Jonathan from Smallville was protective but embraced his son and the man he would eventually become... Costner's Jonathan was the father nobody wanted, would tell you what you should do with your life and who you should be.... Smallville's Jonathan was the father that wanted his son to be the man he wanted to become in life, and would support him and give him the strength to become that man.

I got to meet both of those actors at different comic conventions. I told John Kent actor that he reminds me of my uncles. I grew up in farm country. Jon was so great to visit with.

This is the Jonathan Kent that should have been portrayed in the movie of Henry Carvill. Not an man who was too afraid of what people might think of his son.

Did you not watch the seasons prior this moment cause that's exactly what this version of Jonathan kent was from season 1-5. He almost killed multiple people cause he was afraid of people knowing who clark was. Try again.

They're literally the same lol. Both versions had ideals they wanted their son to live up to but also realized that they had to make their own choices. Both gave up their lives to protect Clark's secret, and both died because they believed the world wasn't ready for Clark.

John Schneider said that his inspiration for this character came from Denver Pylr (uncle jesse) from dukes of hazzard.

Seeing this scenes resemble me how much Snyder took inspiration on Smallville. A strong and sometimes tempestuous conection with father and son. A JK who has serious issues with Clark using his powers and exposing himself to the world. Even the final scene when Jonathan and Jor-El talks to Clark are represented on ZS Justice League... The fantastic "Fly, son... It's time." With all the issues Smalville was a beautifull series and a great homage to the hero.

I've had only 2 dreams where I saw my dad. He's been gone for 18 years. I'm longing for another one. When I first saw this scene even though it's a tv series I wanted something like this . To tell him i miss you and I love you .

I feel like jor el knew exactly what he was doing at this point in criticising Clark and pushing him away in order to get Jonathan to guide him back on track, you can see Jonathan echoes jor el quite a bit more here than he'd done when he was alive....

Why is it that, I wished that I could’ve had a moment like this. With my Mom, before she passed away back in 2015. Or after she passed away, in a Dream. Yes my mom was tough on me. But I feel as if, I never got that moment, to hear her say. "I'm PROUD of you son, for you just being you!" I loved her so much! And when she was in her final days. We had a moment where, I saw her in pain, and she saw me upset. She turned off her pain to ask me, "What's wrong with you Chris?" And all I could say was, "Nothing's wrong mom....No, don't tell me Nothing's wrong. What's wrong with you boy? Me: Momma, if I ever hurt you?...I'm sorry...I'm sorry! Momma: Baby, we do the Best that we can to raise people." After hearing her say that, I got up. Went over to her hospital bed, hugged her. And cried over her, 5 seconds later I hear: "Alright now, go fix ya face. Me: OK." Grabbed some paper towels, and cried into them. Them heard her call on my uncle, who'd passed away 12 years earlier. And ask him, "Why can't you help me on that side?" I had to leave out the room, and go smoke a cigarette and cry some more. I couldn't stand seeing her like that. And this all took place, years later, after I went to Afghanistan and Iraq. 😞😞😞😔😔😔😢😢😢😭😭😭
