I think the main riff is F#m to E, not Em

Why did they tune up a bit? Was that normal? 😭🤣

I'm not sure why but loads of bands have done it. Pretty frustrating when you have to tune up or down slightly.

@@ClarkyGuitar Another theory that I'm unsure of is also the Byrds (who heavily influenced Teenage Fanclub) often tuned their instruments sharper than normal because the 12-string guitars had a harder time staying in tune. Almost all of their early records are sharp.
