One of the greatest soundtracks in cinema history...the timeless sweeping majesty of it just blows me away! TOTALLY EPIC ⚔️

“Clash Of The Titans” (1981) was a very well received action adventure in the style of “The 7th Voyage Of Sindbad”, that mainly is caused by the outstanding special effects by the legendary Ray Harryhausen, who not only made skeletons that could fight (7th Voyage) but also helped Pegasus to fly and the mighty Medusa to scare many people that went to see the movie. Even today this achievements seem to work fine after these years. What really can’t be ignored watching it, is the music by Laurence Rosenthal. He once said in an interview (that you can watch on KZbin), that Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s operatic score to “Kings Row” (1942) made him want to become a film composer and I think, after the scores he has written before “Titans”, he finally saw his chance to write in this beloved rich, romantic and very colorful orchestrated Korngold style. And he did very well. The main titles, the love theme, the action and adventure music sounds like it all belongs together, like… in an opera. Laurence Rosenthal conducts the London Symphony Orchestra, which supports with an outstanding performance. Enjoy!

Laurence Rosenthal evoked Middle Eastern music in the Western symphonic mode, and the result is bewitching. I have the OST and it's a delight!

An absolute gem of a soundtrack. In fact it’s one of my all time favourite fantasy scores. The Intrada 2 disc version of the soundtrack is phenomenal. Wonderful all round. Thanks for posting Fred. Keep up the great work buddy 👍🏼👍🏼

A long time favorite and I have the original CD. I remember seeing the movie as a guest of the producer at the preview. Harryhausen fans went wild.

I recall reading that some of this film was shot in Iraq, 1979, and I was a big fan of it, mostly because of Ray Harryhausen, but getting Laurence Olivier to play Zeus, and Rosenthal's evocative score, certainly helped. Neil McCarthy's Calibos was great and I have missed Judi Bowker, since this film and Count Dracula, 1977.

It was the music that made these films what they REALLY were. I don't think they even use real orchestras anymore for high fantasy films anymore

Some credit should also go to the brilliant orchestrations by Herbert Spencer.
