To prevent the spreading of misinformation and to correct a slight mistake of mine, I should clarify that the Lucky Drop Glitch (Reroll Glitch) was iOS exclusive due to unknown reasons, probably something to do with Clash Royale's servers being horrible as always. I should also add that instead of Supercell losing a lot of money, they only lost an estimated thousand dollars, mainly thanks to the glitch in question being contained hastily. Ironic, considering there exists a lot of other active glitches in the game that haven't been patched just yet but ah well, anything to protect their precious piggybank! Update 2: New situation has developed, thankfully, the part about people being permanently banned has de-escalated into a monthly ban, furthermore, it seems this video is being exposed to people again thanks to the new glitch involving thousands of legendary cards and champions being pulled from chests thanks to Clash Royale's unwillingness to publish balance changes alongside a maintenance update. From what I know, the situation is still ongoing but thousands of players managed to upgrade their cards for essentially free whilst others missed out, it'll be interesting to see how Supercell responds...

The main reason Clash of Clans has still remained strong is that Clash of Clans has not doubled down on monetization. The recent Evo nerf teaser is just proof that they are desperate to try to keep their playerbase. It's sad, because I have been playing Clash royale and while the game is mostly fun in the side modes, the main ladder is so bad that i have much more fun ignoring it

I can’t stand clash royale anymore. Raising the level cap again means that I am now punished even harder for trying to level up and practice any new deck I want to try. The game genuinely puts so much pressure on players to never for any reason play anything other than the same deck they’ve already been playing for years. It’s so fucking boring. Maybe I don’t want to play golem anymore supercell! So stop fucking raising the level cap and evolutions that force you into the same deck you already play because playing anything else costs too much time, effort, and or money! On top of that, the game is so obviously balanced in a way that those who pay money are in a far better position than those who play for free. Look at the meta, to try to balance cards by adding dagger dutches to make those cards weaker and it just shifted the meta to cards that can beat that tower. I’m not trying to say what they are doing is right, but they are not using the credit card to be cash hungry, they using it as a lazy way of avoiding having to really balance the game. Who cares if 2 decks just rule the meta spend 40$ to have those decks maxed out and we don’t have to balance anything; is basically their mindset with this.

Its absolutely baffling how despite being under the same company, the sheer difference between the clash of clans and the clash royale team. The CR team is greedy, rarely listens to players and is all around pretty bad. Wheras the clash of clans team is generally really well liked and most of the time if they mess up, they are honest about it and rectify it. More so, they are very open and receptive to the community. Idk how two polar opposite team philosophies exist under the same company, but its wild. i love watching content creators play the game or watch angry ppl bi**h about it on Reddit but i haven't touched it in years. Why? Cause i wasn't into the gameplay. My only saving grace is spending money which I'd never do, especially not on this game. I used to play this game religiously back in high school, but once Clan Wars II and Pass Royale were added, my interest plummeted. Level 14 and 15, and Evolutions is what truly made me leave Clash Royale, and I don't regret sticking with Brawl Stars in the slightest. That developer team actually cares about its community, and have been adding great F2P changes to make the game enjoyable for everyone. I don't blame Drew for moving away from that dumpster fire whatsoever.

I’ve been playing clash royale since before global launch, during the beta. It frankly feels disrespectful that the game doesn’t even give its most dedicated players an ounce of respect by sparing them from the constant awful shop offers. I dedicated 8 years of my life to clash royale, and this is what we get? Unbelievable. The worst part is that the clash royale shop is full of manipulations tactics. The daily deals and the daily free gift are in the shop tab at the bottom, forcing the player to scroll through all the special offers every day. This is unlike clash of clans where you are never “forced” to view the shop at all. Don’t even get me started on the elite wild scam store. You might think you’re smart by purchasing the third, most valuable deal. However, that’s exactly what they want you to do. The third deal is in money and they provide 2 crappy deals to trick you into thinking the last one is good.

Yeah a lot of psychologists have conducted research into inventing lots of these disgusting shop models to maximize profits. 1. Like offering an ingame currency that you can buy in bundels that never give you just enough for whatever would be the most common thing to buy. There will always be some leftover in game currency to incentivize players to buy more. Also the currency is supposed to obscure how much money you are really spending. That works better on some people who do not keep in mind how much money they spend on the "currency". 2. New players will always get pop ups with "insanely good" deals for very little money. That has the following reason. First if they can get you to spend money on the game, the player will feel more invested since now they have actually spend some of their hard earned money and SECOND and most important, you have now put in your payment info. Therefor you will not have to go through the hassle of typing it all in (for some payment methods) again therefor reducing the steps required to spend money. It is devilish effective too. 3. Fear of missing out deals constantly. I have never played Clash royale but I have played AFK Arena for over 1 year and I can tell you I was really vulnerable to FOMO deals. When I felt a deal would be good and they put a timer on it I just had to get it.. but money was always short. I wasted about 700 euros on that game.. and I am really ashamed to admit that now. There is a genuinenly AMAZING video out there from Josh Strife Haynes that you might already have seen called Diablo Immoral, about Diablo Immortal's insanely predatory monetizing system. And that is basically build to draw the money out of players pockets like a mobile game.

I knew I had to stop playing this game when out of extreme frustration I smashed my phone over my knee and bent it at a 90 degree angle as a result. It was simply far too rage-inducing for me to enjoy consistently. As a mostly F2P player, you pretty much have to lock into 1 deck to level up to progress any meaningful amount, which might be managable when your deck is in the meta, but once an absolutely broken card gets released and similarly broken decks get made around them which completely invalidate your deck, the game becomes borderline unplayable. It feels more like torture than fun.

Yet even my seemingly unnatural patience is wearing off. My peers were dropping off I want to say a year ago, but it could be as long ago as 3. I'm among the last left of my peers on this burning ship, because I know I can adapt to other games if needed. I hold on because maybe, just maybe, the devs will grow brains and remember the heart of game-making; but this optimism is wearing thin. I have to say as a F2P player i have to (as much as i like the game) say that the unfun parts are there were you are forced to play 1 deck and only 1 deck. Me and my best friend have build many decks we liked but we never could play leader bc of the level our cards have. And the evolutions do not make it better, i have some evolutions but people who are level 15 can play 2 evolutions per deck and that is just chaos. I remember one of my friends making a canadian account and downloading the “beta” version for our whole friend group back in middle school. I played the game for around a year, stopped not too long after Jungle Arena was added I think. Just kind of got bored of the game but didn’t think it was bad or anything, sad to see it has fallen to such an awful state, cause it was such a fun game all those years ago.

I recently reinstalled CR after being off for over a year. I one one latter match, due to me being one level higher than the guy and completely countered his deck. The other six games I played straight were of lvl. 15 max two evo card tryhards that my two lvl14 cards couldn't contend with. I uninstalled it again to save both my phone and my sanity.

Clash Royale is really trash nowadays, and really was for a few years now. My years or f2p playing can be summerised into "being good at the game, rushing like 10 arenas in a few days, getting absolutely destroyed by players 4/5/6 levels above mines, taking months to go to the next arena, not being able to change my deck that became non-meta after an update because all my other cards were 7/8 levels bellow my deck and I had no gold"... Man I miss the time we had a free wooden chest every like 4h I think

Also most people forget that they nerfed a lot the mastery rewards, replacing gems with a few coins. The royale pass nerf I can kinda understand it (still shouldn't have gotten nerfed that much), but the mastery rewards weren't broken at all, they nerfed them just because yes.

Awesome video! The incompetence of the clash royale team is truly shocking to me. I had quit clash royale for all of 2023 and was shocked when I spoke with my friend, who was still playing, about the game. When he told me about evolutions and how there was now a diamond pass as well as a gold pass, I knew the game was done for. I decided to come back and start playing again, and to be honest, the charm is still there. The problems outlined in this video, however, are very much prevalent. I’ve been with this game since launch, and it’s very sad to see it go downhill like this.

I stopped taking the game seriously after the introduction of level 14. I was getting stomped left and right by maxed out decks while I could barely get 2 cards to par with 13. I came back after the introduction of the duchess and now I just mindlessly play the game whenever im bored. Don’t care about progression, since I know I won’t get anywhere in a meaningful amount of time. Honestly it’s kinda fun that way, just get a thrill of a close match every now and then and log off. Though it’s really sad and disheartening how bad it’s gotten over the years. Wish it wasn’t like this.

Progression in CR feels like trying to get a million dollars by scavenging for coins on the street. The funnest thing I do on CR is play the classic challenges, where I play any deck I want and have equal levels to any opponents.

One thing i see few complain about is the events, and how it begs you to play, or are essentially punished because you need to unlock evolutions and stuff using the tokens. The game feels like a job that you dont get payed for. And, clash of clans is turning this dead leaf now too.

I reinstalled it a week ago to see how it's holding up and decided uninstalled immediatly after getting jumpscared by the +5 special offers people have to scroll down to reach the daily gift.

As someone who have been following the meta for quite so long, it would be appropriate to say that balance changes and release of evolutions also convert people to spend more money on game. For example recently they stated that (evo) firecracker and archers die to arrows, which also conter bomber and bats. This is to directly shift meta to arrows and then they add evos such as musk and ice wizard which will be stronger because their normal vertions are weak, so that people can invest poison/fireball. Recently, only 6% persentage of people maxed out little prince and according to my research, they generally nerf at %8-10. Another theory is the usage of an improved IA to calculate the most profitable way to shift meta with addition to complex systems such as tower troops and evolutions. For example previous month, it was drill meta now it is tank and the other month, it will be cycle. Just quit bros, I know the thrill of winning and designing better strategies, but I have sworn to not touch competitive game other than friendly wars with my friends.

My biggest frustration with this game is that there are definitely people that cheat and it seems to be getting way worse. Like I will watch my elixir and say I'm at two elixir, my opponent will drop like nine elixir while I'm at two meaning I am one ahead of them. While I am waiting for my elixir to creep at five or something, they go and drop like two cards together equaling another seven or eight elixir? How did they manage that when I was one elixir ahead of you and I just got to five? I can't even count how many times I've come across games that can't be explained with the events! The events are the worse! Cards that seem to be overpowered, unlimited elixir, being able to drop a card and then have it again almost immediately even though they've only used one card since? But then you watch the playback and the elixir looks like it adds up? I've watched replays and seen the elixir add up but at the same time, it doesn't. Like I can see them dropping cards that they shouldn't be able to drop because there's no way they have enough elixir for it but yet, the elixir shows that they somehow do? I also think supercell rigs the game to favor players.

After 7 years i finally quit this game and it was a great decision. I only get on for clan wars and its so boring i dont even try and lose on purpose. Ive switched to brawl stars and its surprising how they actually do good updates and REGULARLY while staying in touch with their community. I played this game for over 800 hours and it got so bad to the point that i sometimes forget it even exists and not even the hard work ive put into this game in the past could convince me to stay. Im honestly so happy the game has gotten to this point and ive been hoping the clash royale team lose everything theyve achieved since they don’t deserve the community who have done everything in their power to keep this game alive.

I've been playing Clash Royale since the day it came out and I've always been free to play. After I got to 9000 trophies I decided to make an alt account and see how long it would take me to grind up to 5000 trophies. I couldn't get past arena eight because of all the pay to win players that were there. The greed that has overrun clash royale and the fact that some of the OG devs are leaving make the downfall of clash royale even more depressing especially for OG players.

for my first video in six months, seeing comments like this is highly encouraging so thank you! also I forgot to mention it and I wish I did but when it comes to the wildcard removal, I find it extremely scummy how the c.r devs straight up also removed the legendary wildcards from the season shop to make way for the dagger duchess, yes, earning them was already hard for f2p players but that felt like the nail in the coffin for any sort of flexibility that exists in the game, you either buy the stuff in the season shop and deal with it or you miss out without any flexibility or middle road now, which sucks for pretty much everyone smh clash royale is further catering to the whales and I've had some funny comments from them end up in my "held for review" tab too lmao

For me, the main problem is that they masively improved progression with magic items and book. then they realised they aren't making enough money from offers and such as you could max one card with a single book of book from the pass for a few dollars, so they nerfed it, but in a really scummy way

One time I had to scroll a lot just to reach the shop where you get free things. This is nuts, at this point put ads between offers. Also, now you can use wild card on tower troops, but you cannot buy them from the seasonal shop no more. I hope this game falls as fast as possible. Also, Drew went to Brawl stars and the first thing they add are "evolutions" to brawlers. At this point is his fault.
