I paint at home and the W400's are the first really good guns I have purchased. Prior to that I was using Chinese knock-offs with varying results. I will never forget how it felt to use the Iwatta the first time instead of a 30 dollar paint gun. Just everything seemed easier, flowed better, and I didn't even have to cut and buff the paint if I didn't want to.

I have found that the original w400 1.4mm nozzle opening measures about 1.3mm, while while the bellaria 1.4mm nozzle opening mesures 1.4mm. I have measured the original w400 1.3mm nozzle opening as well and it measures about 1.2mm. This may explain the slower flow of paint with the original w400 in 1.3mm, as it is really a 1.2mm nozzle. In the bellaria iwata has accurately labeled the nozzle size.

The ongoing question - when repairing damaged/rusty parts what goes first on the bare metal? Anticorrosion primers or filler?
@TonysRefinishingTV3 жыл бұрын
Epoxy is best then filler over that as the epoxy will seal the cleaned up metal from moisture not only from the usual places but also moisture and humidity in the air

Tried that ANI primer gun today mate, didn't want to put any thinners in it in case it upset the celly it was going over. It just spat bits of primer onto the car....wouldn't spray at all. Had to strip the gun down , clean it out , and remix whith 30% thinners . This primer is really thick out the tin, what do you recommend mate ? Is there a thinner 2k primer or shall I just put some thinners in ....seemed to spray ok with the thinners .
@TonysRefinishingTV3 жыл бұрын
Just use with abit of thinner mate the ones that spray the real thick primers are like the sagolas I’ve got that are mega money for primer so it’s best just to add a tad of thinner
@davidparker96764 жыл бұрын
Will the fade out thinners cause any long term paint defects? I know on blends that it will haze the area after several years in the sun. Do you get a chance to see your paint jobs as they age? I haven't seen the thinners used on a complete respray before. I like the idea of re-wetting the dry areas but I am concerned about long term effects (if any). Thanks in advance for any response.
@TonysRefinishingTV4 жыл бұрын
Not on this job it won’t as it’s all fresh paint and the safe out thinner is just basically a strong 2k thinner which the paint has in anyway

@TonysRefinishingTV8 жыл бұрын
+Martín Denez 2k fade out thinners , so if you have an area you end up with a dry edge because of how you have to paint getting to the other side of the vehicle and the wet edge has started to flash off so it leaves a slight dry patch you can use fade out thinner on those areas to active the dry and wet edges and melt them together

The fluid nozzle on the w400 -LV is more akin to the LPH400...it has 3 “slits” ( best way to describe) rather than the 4 that the LPH400 nozzles have...it’s kind of like iwata RP (reduced pressure) version of and LPH. just a FYI...the LPH and w400 gun body is exactly the same ...you can swap out the air caps and nozzles and make totally different t guns..I have a Bellaria and a w400 but I really have a Bellaria, a w400-LV and aN LpH400 In a 1.4 and 1.3 by swapping out nozzles and air caps.
