Above and beyond the performance gains, this cleans up the engine bay a ton. Never fails to see a guy dump $10k+ into an engine compartment and leave the rusted up stock master cylinder. Like a turd on top of a t-bone steak.

You bench bleed because some cars (many back in the 70's) the master isn't level and you can't get all the air out. No other reason then that. If the master is level in your vehicle no bench bleeding is necessary.

awesome, can I use the same part number for chevy k5 blazer 78? i have wilwood disk brake at the front, and factory drums at the rear
@orangesharpy2 жыл бұрын
So does this Wilwood proportioning valve assembly also act as a distribution block? So, In other words you can get rid of the factory distribution block because this has 2 front brake and 1 rear brake out? Thank you for the video!

yes I had to change the rear brake line fitting and make it smaller to adapt it to the proportioning valve.

I wouldn't recommend this master as Wilwood themselves have stated they don't make a bore large enough to support large C10 calipers.

Will I need the prop valve if I have rear drum brakes on my 96 silverado?
@bowtihi68302 жыл бұрын
I have a wilwood master cyl. And adjustable prop. Valve. The brake light switch is pushing out of its setting on my very first test drive and the rubber boot over the spade connectors disintegrated before I was ever able to get the brakes working. I hear you mention plugging the port. What is the thread size on the switch. And should I use any kind of thread sealant.

HOW 2 DO IT ON 84 GMC C15100
@MrSticks9999 Жыл бұрын
That IS NOT a proportioning valve!! That is a combination valve. With disc brakes, the combination valve may contain a proportioning valve.But the proportioning valve is a separate part/piece.
@PhysifistEngineering2 жыл бұрын
DO NOT use this master cylinder on a C10 with big brakes. Wilwood does not make a bore size large enough to be compatible with the large front calipers. Your pedal will be soft and you won't generate the full power the front calipers are capable of. I've done 3 C10s with these masters, all with the same issue. I spoke to Wilwood and I quote, "You need an upgraded caliper with multiple smaller pistons. Our master cylinders will not be enough for a standard large single piston caliber found on C10s."
@ck1insac2 жыл бұрын
Have you tried this system with their D52 calipers? I’m installing now on my 72 C10 and having a soft pedal issue. The D52’s are dual piston.
