Classic Dirt Bikes "Ian Paterson's Speedway Motorcycles Collection"

A bit of a departure from my usual classic dirt bike motocross machines this time. This is Ian Paterson's very unique collection of classic speedway motorcycles. This collection has taken Ian over 26 years to compile and is regarded as one of the world's premier speedway motorcycle collections.

Hi Dave your absolutely right I’m not a speedway fan but I was hugely impressed with Ian’s collection and his commitment to the sport and as a private collection its possible one of the best in the UK.

Michael Winter Thanks Michael although to be fair most of the editing was done on the computer but nevertheless they were indeed pictures from my phone. Normally I carry around video cameras to these types of events but I never knew what I was going to see heading to this venue and was amazed by what I saw so had to utilise my trusty phone as an emergency measure.

Collection is due to be auctioned off by all accounts, with an estimated value of £100,000 for the 1927 Indian bike

Thanks for your comments David. I certainly don’t know much about speedway machines as classic motocross bikes is more my bag but without doubt this is a very special collection indeed more especially when it belongs to one person.
