I have this controller in its SNES version. It is one of the best controllers I've ever used, and was also released for Genesis as the Hori Mega Commander.

If you want to play the PCEngine version of SF2' Champion Edition, and can't afford an arcade stick, it's either this, the Avenue Pad 6, or nothing. Sorry, but the Brook PS3/PS4 to Genesis and TG16/PCE adapter hasn't gotten an updated firmware to play six-button games on PCE, and the PCE to Uni-Gen converter (must be used with the Uni-Gen converter as well) only lets you use two buttons plus A as the Run button and the Start as the Select.

The Hori controllers for the PC Engine, Mega Drive & Super Famicom are the best. Especially for fighting games. You can't go wrong with the old school Hori controllers and joy sticks.

I have the Hori Fighting Commander 10b (originally for PS1) which I use with modern fighting games via an adapter on PC and it rocks!

I have never tried the Avenue 6 but from what I have heard and been told, is that the Hori is a lot better. The D Pad is more responsive.... This is what many tell me. As far as the PC Engine, Mega Drive & Super Famicom the Hori's have been the best for me.

They still make Fighting Commander pads for playstation that you can use on pc. They're probably the best of a bad bunch now it's so hard to find the genuine Saturn controllers.

Hori makes the best fighting game pads and great fighting sticks. They're my "go-to" company for fighting games.

I've got what is essentially the same thing for MD, the Mega Commander and it's wonderful. Arcade sticks are better and better these days but the new Hori Commander controllers are rather average. Then again I think the Dual Analog is the best 3d controller so maybe I'm stuck in the past.

i would normally agree with you...but there is the odd cheaply made hori controller here and there. but like 99% of the time i couldnt agree with u more....i consider hori on par or superior to the first party stuff most of the time!

Isn't Street Fighter 2 the only game to take advantage of a six button controller for the Pc-Engine/Turbo Graphics 16?

No there are a few other fighting games like Fatal Fury series that use it as well. I have the Pc-Engine version of Fatal Fury Special and it does a 6-button controller.

There's also games that use 3-buttons which this pad would come in handy for too, since using the Run button on the original pad isn't great

It took me years to find one of these at a reasonable price; reasonable meaning around $30. I lucked up on a guy selling one in the Netherlands of all places. It truly is a great controller, but an Avenue Pad 6 will work just fine if you can't find the Hori pad affordably. Still kinda pricey though.
