I remember this. It was one of my first games for the Dreamcast system, which I had gotten in 2000. I recall being frightened by the scene when you are stumbling down the corridor, and that freaky zombie was behind the bars glaring right at you. Good times, good times.

I enjoy the humor in their reviews, but "review" wise they don't say much about the mechanics or anything. I didn't hear anything about the actual game except the fact its part of the survival horror genre (kind of obvious from the game footage right?), and the constant statement that its a solid game. What makes it so solid?

After finishing the game for the first time and titles finish just save the game one more time and after the main screen will apear, load the last file you just saved and you will be able to play for the Jessifer Manning.When you will finish her scenario and saved the game after titles , you will start the game again playing by Jack Ingles but this time in absolutely new outfit !!! @gummoboy333 the ps2, xbox, gamecube, and all the new games that they brought made my dreamcast dusty haha. my dreamcast got A LOT of playtime and i played the hell out of everything i had, so when it stopped producing, i stopped playing it for the most part. definitely still had my urges though. i was sad to see the dreamcast go, but since im more about games than consoles, i couldnt stay sad for too long haha

I played this game when it first came out & I fairly enjoyed it when I wasn't stumped on what to do next. I was guessing I'd get to play the girl's part of the game after I beat the game, like Resident Evil 2's setup, but I got stuck somewhere in it and never played it since. I considered this one of the few overlooked titles I decided to give a chance, like TRAG: Mission of Mercy for the PS1 or Goblin Commander on PS2(which was like a poor man's Warcraft 3).

@AgentCell carrier has sumo martial arts? i know blue stinger does, and that game definitely gets better as it goes on. i used melee weapons through like the first half of that game because it was so easy, then by the time i was ready to use guns the game was even easier because i had enough money to buy crazy amounts of ammo. but for carrier, i think one of the reasons i stopped playing was because i was low on ammo and the difficulty ramped up, in addition to just not finding the game fun

Im sorry, but I cant believe these guys, they consistently bash resident evil 2 and 3, but at the same time they say Carrier is really good. Personal opinion is one thing, but hating on Resident evil 2 is another. RE 2 is one of the best Survival horror games ever and is the best RE game yet.

this is the only game i had for dreamcast that i never finished. i got maybe halfway through and just stopped playing because i thought it was crap, and i love survival horror. maybe my opinion was influenced by having played through code veronica before playing this =P

What i really hate from sirvival horror games is how they give you a .50 bmg anti tank rifle, but it actually has the same effect on flesh a 5.56mm would have irl. At least in this case I can't know how tough the giant slug would be, while in resident evil, I'm shooting human flesh that's tougher than magnesium alloy.

@sadowolf No seriously the game gets better. At first, it was just horrendous because it's a weird style of gameplay. My advice is conserve every gun ammo. Use melee weapons and use the sumo martial arts clothes on the fat guy. Save the gun ammo for boss battles and that should get you anywhere.

I felt the same way. I felt it was just something to fill the void because Code Veronica wasn't available. Resident Evil 3 is BETTER than carrier.

I traded a n64 today for a dreamcast i got 40 for the n64 and games and the dreamcast cost 40 but the store lady was nice enough to give me a five dollar game and i seen this and it looked like resident evil i was awesome resident evil

the plot was northern and southern hemispheres at war, the carrier the hiemdal was on an invasion mission and the ground troops found and ancient organism in the for of a plant named ark. it got out after a southern cross terrorist blew open the container holding it and arm attached itself to the nuclear core sprouting seeds that to refuge in the bodies of the crew. they became violent and even mutated. soon arm was able to control the ship from the main computer lab and was on its way back to base full of drones ready to infect the world. Jack's team was sent to investigate it when it ceased all communications with the main northern forces. little did they know the horror that waited for them. Jack hoped to at least find his brother Bob on board and get him to safety. that is the story to the start of the game and the plot of the plant ark

I don't get all the love for Carrier. Maybe it was because I played it after RE Code Veronica (I think), but I thought it was awful and didn't even bother finishing it because it was just plain boring. I actually enjoyed Blue Stinger much more.

This game may have been good back in 2000, but as of 2012, it has aged horribly. When I bought my used Dreamcast a couple months ago, and it came with this game. The controls are incredibly clunky, even for a game released in 2000. Hell, even Ocarina of Time in the N64 from 1998 still controls smoothly even today in 2012! Or Super Mario 64 from 1996. Carrier is simply unplayable nowadays due to the abysmal controls.

the thing I hate about sega consoles is that they always had a few amazing games, but no where near as many as the competing gaming companies like nintendo or Sony, For example, I had a Sega Saturn and got Alberty Oddysey, an amazing game and Virtua Fighter 2, but I couldnt find anything beyond that worth owning for the sega saturn.

yeah it's the same but veronica x have some extra stuff i don't know about the DC version i never play it but chris is playable on x and i herd that the graphics have enhaced a little on the x version and the game on code veronica x it's in one dvd disc not 2. it's not a remake but it's a better version of the original oh! also steve have a diffrent hair cut on x. compared to the DC version. go to wikipedia and ask about RE code veronica DC and veronica x ps2 and NGC to see whats the diffrence.
