Classic Game Room reviews STAR WARS EPISODE 1 RACER

Classic Game Room season 1 - April 17, 2000. After watching Star Wars Episode 1 and drinking a case of 40oz malt liquor beverages the Game Room recoded its 40th episode nearly 8 years ago. Star Wars Episode 1 Racer was on the Sega Dreamcast and was basically like Hydro Thunder with the John Williams Star Wars theme, Star Wars cut scene with Anakin Skywalker and Star Wars designed racers. This episode is rare because it features the first appearance of the "disco ball of malt liquor power". Also note we wanted Star Wars on DVD and they gave in, thanks to us.
Classic Game Room reviewed Atari, NES, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast and Playstation... too bad they didn't get to Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 or Wii. Now Classic Game Room HD is covering the new systems.

I still have this game on the N64! Still great even after a decade of gaming evolution. If they ever did a remake I would be very, VERY happy. =) But what's weird is that the N64 version did NOT include cutscenes, and it had only one looping soundtrack for the last lap in each race. But heck, it still brought good memories. Oh, and the zero-g corridor at 5:25 NEVER gets old! Great stuff, great stuff. =D

i just got this game out from dusty storage and popped it in my N64 and it's just as amazing as it was 7 years or so ago. I really can't remember the last time I played this game besides a couple days ago.

You know what's funny. I first got this game for the pc when I was 10, and I had a decent joystic as a controller. Somewhere along when my dad set it all up the controlls got messed up so when I played the game my pod racer was by default up on its side. I played the entire game not knowing how to make my pod racer fly normally. and I think I beat it on normal too, which is crazy considering I could barely turn.

I rented this game for the N64 a looong time ago, now I play it with an emulator, I must admit that is one of the best racers I've ever played. I've always used Anakin, but I guess it's because I used to be such an Star Wars nerd...well, still a bit today XD!!!

accually in the game "Star Wars the Force Unleashed", there is a room with Jar Jar frozen in carbonite (the stuff Han Solo was in), and that game takes place between movies 3 and 4, so Jar Jar "died" in that time period

In Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace, Gasgano won SECOND PLACE in the Boonta Eve Classic behind first place winner, Anakin Skywalker. P. S. Oovo 4 ( the astroid prison ) was a level in Star Wars Bounty Hunter.

Short answer no, however there is a cheat code that allows you to use two controllers and emulate the arcade's control.

this is the dreamcast version being reviewed. The n64 version indeed had worse graphics but was released before this.

Jeeze pod racer lol "its a new lap record" was a great game though, better than the movie even hehe. I remember buying a saitek cyborg 3D joystick just to play that one :D

This game was great except for how easy the singleplayer mode was. You can beat the entire game without upgrading your ship. Would like to see a rom hack of the game that makes it properly difficult for anyone over the age of 12.
