If you look through some of the other related sengoko 2 videos there's a few that look as if they were played on emulators and captured directly. The colors and picture sharpness are much sharper and vivid in the actual game. There is also Sengoko 3 which I think is arcade only.. but the visuals are at the peak of 2D quality.

@JerryTerrifying I hear ya there on keeping the MVS stock, but I don't have the room either, and sometimes the MVS 1/2 slot mother boards popup on ebay or gamegavel, which makes nice compromise, also the adaptors have popped up on Ebay, etc.. Sense i am a bit broke cause of the holidays, and G/F B-day, I will be sticking with my Neo Geo collections on my Wii.

Thanks for introducing me to a great beat em up series. Theres some really great games that us folk outside Japan never get to see, (its even worse where i live in Europe then the USA, sigh Raiden 4 and aces) theres alot of old tat as well but the wackyness can make up for it. Im looking forward to Comet 77 [C77] and all those lovly shmups that are coming out.

Just got and beat this game on the neo cd and I have to say this was the most amazing beat em up I have ever played. The variety in the gameplay and the stages is crazy and the music is amazing. This is a true masterpiece in every way.

The first sengoku is on SNK arcade classics vol.1 for the Wii and PS2. You reviewed that game and said that you would review each seperate game on the disc seperately but haven't done to many of them yet.

Try the Sengoku Denshou port for the Super Famicom. It's one of the few SNK ports that didn't get a release outside Japan and it's the only Sengoku to get a 16-bit port.

Sengoku 2 is an excellent game but Sengoku 3 is my favorite beatemup for the NeoGeo. I would definitely check it out since it came out in 2001 which by then SNK was mainly focusing on fighters. Plus I believe it was SNK's last game before SNK became SNK Playmore. The Gameplay is off the wall in Sengoku 3 as you can choose between 4 different characters and 2 bonus charaters and you can do super awsome combos. Definitely check Sengoku 3 out you won't be dissapointed!

@JerryTerrifying I hear ya there, but some people have said the CDZ helps on some games, and others note so much, but If I had the money to blow, and did not have bills to pay, etc... LOL! I would much rather go with a consolized MVS system, with one or 2 cart slots. from looking online, it does not seem that hard to do, and the games are cheaper then the home AES games.

MAn I rember playing this in the arcades when I was younger. Loved it! This and samurai Showdown 2 made me want to Beg and plead my mom to get me a NEo-Geo Aes. But lo and behold it was 600 some dollars for the system and 200 some dollars for a game(and people cry about consoles now adays). But the NEo-Geo is 1 of the best looking consoles EVER(the joystick alone is jaw-droping). O and SENGOKU 3 is NOthing like the Other 2.

Sengoku 3 was a different kind of style visually.. much more beautiful, made by Noise Factory instead of SNK.. it's less of the crazy feudal Japan meets Japanese Shintoism and more of the modern city Streets of Rage style, but still worth checking out!
@JerryTerrifying15 жыл бұрын
The Neo Geo CD's cool and all...but the loading times are terrible. I picked up an AES for a very decent price and there are many games that are affordable for it. There's a video compairing load times. On the AES the first match is over before the NGCD even loads the first fight. It's terrible.
@CommodoreFan6415 жыл бұрын
I hear what your saying, but all i was saying is, and i would feel the same if i was mark, and on a budget, why spend money on the AES, when someone gave me the NeoGeo CD for free, and there is the Neo Geo CD Z model machine that helps out load times some.

Exactly. Length, and story is fun, yet score is not replay, it all depends on if the game can be fun. I didn't say this game was not fun, I'm saying score is not replay. Like E.T. has a score system.

I did some research and it turns out that Sengoku 3 isn't on the NeogeoCD. In fact There were only 300 Aes copies of that game ever produced. Looks like your only likely option to play the game is to get the MVS cart and get a consolized MVS. I just looked on ebay and Sengoku 3 MVS is going for around 150$ ouch!

All Neo-Geo systems base the game region on the system's region coding, not the games - the games include all language versions that were made. He must have a Japanese Neo-Geo CD system. Also, yeah, the first two Sengoku games are okay, but the third one is fantastic, easily the best beat 'em up on the Neo-Geo. Cart only game though, no CD version. All three Sengoku games were on Neo-Geo AES and MVS. The first two were also on NGCD. Finally the first had Japan-only Sega CD and SNES ports.
