Already a winner when I saw that Hellman's mayonnaise. He pretty much makes it similar to mine except I add green onion which takes it to another level....trust me. People always ask what that extra ingredient is they are tasting that they love. They are shocked when I say just a little green onion....I hate regular onions in potato salad.

I love the mayonnaise mix 💗you put in the potato’s but I think the best way to cook the potatoes is whole with the skin on and then you boil them till tender and peel and dice ,the potato texture is much better ...💗😍great video TY ..x

I use potato salad as a condiment sometimes. Weird...I know. I take my serving, squish the potatoes a little bit, and put that on a burger or hotdog with the usual ketchup and mustard. I add fries and Big Mac sauce to my McD's burgers, so maybe now that you know that, the potato salad condiment thing isn't so out there...😇 My Grandma always said (and I'm pretty much of the same opinion...) "All the food on that plate is going to the same place, so what's the difference if it mixes together on the plate or in my tummy?"

Hey Nephew hey, your recipe looks tasty. We don't have Hellmann's down here in Southern California. I use Best Foods. Since my taste buds changed, I can't even eat Miracle Whip on anything. My mustard is only for a light coloring and of course I add onions, celery and bell pepper. Never seen or heard of cranberry or raisin potato salad, ugh. Yours looks good. Peace and positivity. Nope....I make my potato salad while the potatoes are still warm ( not hot but warm). You just have to make sure you handle very carefully. I still put in in the refrigerator after I make it because most of my family likes it chilled.

Looks delicious. I boil scrubbed Russet potatoes whole in their skins. The flavor is much better and there are no chopping problems. Sugar is never used. Always at the very least: Best Foods/Hellman's mayonnaise, eggs, scallions and/or red onions, Colman's dry mustard, celery salt, celery seeds, chopped sweet pickles (not relish). A great gourmet-class base for whatever else I want to use.

No disrespect to Helmans because I use it regularly but I’ve been fixing potato salad since I was 12 years old and I’m now 61. I started with yellow potatoes but in the past few years I began using red potatoes. Along with that, I add onions, green peppers, eggs, salt, pepper, sweet relish, paprika and yes, the dreaded Miracle Whip. Trust me when I tell you that I have had so many people over the years asking me to make potato salad. If I’m low in Miracle Whip I will mix in Helmans. I hope that at least partially redeems me. 😂😂😂

I have to have a little onion diced small. I dont put eggs in mine. You have to let the potato cool. I cook mine and cut when cool. They are firm and cooked all the way and not like mash potatoes. So you have to know all long to cook them and let them cool. That yellow mustard and sweet relish yessssss. I do everything you do except the egg and celery seed.

Far as potato salad goes, everyone have their preference of what you add in based on where you're from. Some people like plain potato salad and others like it with celery, onions(red onions for me), bell pepper and sweet pickles or relish(these are my choice). Also "well" seasoned with the sugar. So I would say, one persons way isn't the only way, that's just YOUR choice. So glad God gave us all our own minds, aren't you?
