Rachel, I just made this potato salad step by step, even the cooling process. It is delicious! I am 69 and have made potato salad all my life, but never has it tasted so good! I really enjoy watching you cook. You seem so sweet and such a good cook! I am now doing many more recipes from your site. Thank you so much! Keep cooking!

I'm 76 and have been making potato salad that everyone raves about for many years, however my significant other of 5 years (picky eater) has never commented on it. I stumbled on your channel a few days ago and have been watching with interest. We were having neighbors over for dinner yesterday and I decided to try making your potato salad to go along with pork chops and baked asparagus. Well, the neighbors loved it and my guy not only had two helpings, but he actually commented how good it was and, even though I'm a good cook, he hardly ever makes a comment on my food! Yours has taken the place of my "once famous" potato salad! Thank you, Rachel, I'll surely be trying more of your recipes.

You didn't mention how her recipe differed from yours. When I switched from chopped pickles to RELISH I got compliments on flavor...but found it was actually the smaller pickle pieces in relish that made the difference to my husband.

I'm 75 and been making my mom's potato salad for years. Yours is very similar, but the main difference is the way you make your sauce separate and then add it to the potatoes. I love your method. My mom would love it too if she was still here but I'm sure she's watching me make it using your method from Heaven and nodding in approval..great job Rachel!🎉❤

Now I can make it myself when I get the cravings and I do about once a month. Thank you Rachel for explaining the techniques. Rachel, Oh man oh man....This sounds like my recipe for my potato salad but I learned so much by not being in a hurry and tossing all it to a bowl quickly, being a 68 yr old granny I feel we all becoming in a hurry trying to multi task so many things and not remembering our grandparents and parents making it a tradition in cooking sometimes a special meal we all shared taking time. We had no technology and held conversation with each other!!! ...even the youngsters. Boy those were the days!!! I'm going to make some for dinner tonight but make this now so it can chill. Thanks so much for sharing your experience, knowledge, proof of love for cooking and expertise with your fans. May God keep you and yours safe. I agree! I recently spoiled 3 boiled eggs because the shells stuck like glue. I looked on YT and a top chef said it was because instructions always say to put eggs in cold and bring to boil but they should be steamed for 13 mins starting with the water boiling. Supposedly it prevented the shell sticking to the membrane. I did try it but wasn’t 100% successful however watching Rachel make it look so easy, I will certainly be giving her way a try. Great video!

Oh yum! I love potato salad. I'll even eat it for breakfast sometimes. Your recipes are delicious! You were talking about onions making you cry. I have found that if I put an onion in the fridge for about one and a half hours then chop it the tears don't flow. Thanks for the huge variety of recipes too. Some times if I'm out of ideas as to what to cook for supper I ask myself, "what would Lady Rachael cook". You have never failed me.😊

(Rumor has it we have some really great food! Lol) Before she passed away, she taught me how to make her seafood gumbo. (Who makes the best gumbo? Ma mama!!!) She never measured...sign of a great cook! She wrote down the steps. I have it framed in my kitchen till this day! A treasure! Something tells me not only does great food come out of your wonderful kitchen but, a whole lot of love. One of the best ingredients in any dish! Thanks for sharing and teaching really great ideas and tips! Bon Appétit!

You're awesome! You are a great teacher! (I am a retired teacher, so I'm picky lol🤭) when I make variations of tater salad,,, I've used your basic recipe, but omit onion, due to medical reasons,,, we enjoy subbing a quality or homemade Ranch dressing, to the mayo, for a non mustard style. And of course yummy dill weed to taste. For over 25yrs, I've also made a version with Bread & Butter style pickles, chopped into relish,,, along with some pickle brine. I was at my folks house cooking for a widow lady🙏She loved it! I've even added French style mustard, instead of yellow traditional,,, and it's a hit! Also, we LOVE to add fresh chopped red bell pepper to all versions. And,,, of course here in TX, we've always got to make a spicy jalapeño version. We prefer the sweet Jalapeños or the Jalapeño relish in stores. And ya know,,, crispy bacon or diced ham on top for Southern BBQ! I am so anxious to look through your recipes! Keep up the GREAT teaching!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥳💯‼️

You make me hungry so I am making this right now! Potatoes are boiling. I'm a guy 64 yo live alone and do love to cook. When your cooking only for yourself, then it's hardly worthwhile. I cook small portions but with this I'm making it like yours. I love potato salad. I probably will add cheese when I have a single serving. Just finely chopped cheddar sprinkled on top along with fresh chives. I have lots growing outside. Perfect recipe I think. It has all the ingredients I use plus a few I don't so I will see. Now I've learned a new way of making my favorite potato salad. The twist, your vinegar and peeling and cutting the potatoes before boiling it for 11 minutes. Perfect! 😋👌 Thanks Rachel for sharing your cooking with love! 💖 Much appreciated 💜 I cook with love too! 🧑‍🍳💜💖

I've always peeled and cut them prior to boiling. Doing it the other way just seems like a lot of extra and unnecessary steps. I think it's complicated such a simple process. But, to each it's own 😊

Rachel…I love your videos. Your recipes are all delicious. I am much older now, and take many shortcuts when I can, so the more detailed recipes, I don’t make. I see you have a small kitchen, as I do. I have picked up some hints, just by looking at your kitchen. Thank you for sharing all your recipes with us. ♥️☕️🐶

This is almost exactly how I make mine. I also don’t like a lot of mustard. The only things I do differently is I use chopped dill pickles along with the sweet relish and I’ve never put sugar in mine. Everybody asks me to bring my potato salad to family gatherings so I guess I’m doing something right. It took me years to perfect it. Wish I could have had your recipe sooner lol. Love your channel. You’re a joy to watch 😊

I would always like to know what brand of dill pickles you use. I have tried so many brands and so many I do not like

@@pjjj8117 You can also just put chopped dill in place of pickles, and a little vinegar 😊

Rachel! I absolutely love your recipes! I tell our four young daughters who watch your videos with me that I would love a lady in my life like you to teach me all her recipes! I often thought you were from Texas, just because of the way you talk and present yourself. I am from Austin, and we live in Manor, and today on this potato salad video I saw the mustard from H‑E‑B. Haha!!! I know there is no HEB’s in any other place but Texas! Anyways! We LOVE YOUR RECIPES! I used your cheese enchilada video as a reference for last nights dinner. We all loved it! Thanks for all you do and God bless you and your family!

Miss Rachel, I couldn’t believe this recipe. My mother, (may she Rest In Peace) made her potato salad exactly like you! I’m so excited and happy that you’re moving home to Texas. I’m in Austin, but if you ever come here, we’ll come see you cook. I think you should do a cooking show. Blessings to you and your Ron💕
