Malcolm X was an American Muslim minister and human rights activist who was a popular figure during the civil rights movement.
Malcolm X was born Malcolm Little on May 19, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. His mother, Louise Norton Little, was a homemaker occupied with the family's eight children. His father, Earl Little, was an outspoken Baptist minister and avid supporter of Black Nationalist leader Marcus Garvey. Earl's civil rights activism prompted death threats from the white supremacist organization Black Legion, forcing the family to relocate twice before Malcolm's fourth birthday.

The Autobiography of Malcolm X is simply one of the greatest books ever written, and in conjunction with the great Alex Haley. One of the great orators in American history; he understood history, psychology and sociology. My dilemma for years has been my admiration for Malcolm, respect for the Nation of Islam, and Malcolm’s assassination by members of the NOI. The world and country needed Malcolm (just like Martin), for another 40-50 years and it is unacceptable to remove them from our earth. The Nation had no right to kill Malcolm and any justification of his assassination reduces the Nation. NOI owes the world an apology.
@solomonlee5298
@solomonlee5298 4 жыл бұрын
That's because the Nation of Islam was a lie. That's not our ppls true heritage. They killed him because they were probably paid to do it. I never wanted to hear or believe that but, it's the truth. I always thought the NOI was a distraction/diversion from our ppl learning who they really are and one of the very puppets controlled by white liberals that Malcolm speaks of in this video. What other reason did they have to kill a man who spoke this much truth? Snakes. Black ppl turned our backs on our God and that's why we going thru what we going thru. Malcolm already told us we're the real Israelites not the ppl in Israel right now. They're imposters. I suggest you take that bit of knowledge he dropped and run with it. I have and America as a whole makes so much sense now to me. All the gray area I could never understand before is now so obvious. Don't take my word for it do some research but, Malcolm knew what he was talking about. Hitler knew we were the real Israelites too. He said we were "God's stolen jewels" and that America was gonna pay for what they've done to us. The Bible is our history book and the ppl in it are our ancestors. They used it against us for so long to the point where black ppl don't want anything to do with it. Which is sad because it's our true heritage and also the only way our ppl are gonna wake up out of the slumber we've been in for 400+ yrs. We literally have the same blood flowing through our veins that Christ did. That's why they hate us. That's what they always knew about us that we didn't know about ourselves. There's a verse in the Bible that addresses us going into slavery in ships. No other ppl in the world all thru history have done that but us. It just makes too much sense. I also don't know of any other ppl in this world going into captivity and when it was "over" stayed there indefinitely trying to be apart of their enemy's culture. Slavery destroyed us spiritually, mentally and physically. It is really an act of war. America has made us always look at it from an economic and moral position but, really it's a war tactic. Black ppl have Stockholm syndrome and don't even know it. It's heartbreaking but also real frustrating and makes me extremely angry. Cause when you try to wake anyone up they ignore you, fight you, or think your crazy. Even though you're watching the very narrative that's destroying them play out more and more everyday in their lives. History is repeating itself.

As not to your comment, but this to to the idiot last comment to you. Two(2) before Malcom-X was murdered by the Black Panther's, by the Nation Of Islam, Louis Franklin(might be misspelled), the leader of/founder of Nation Of Islam, Malcom-X repeatedly and precisely said to the media just who is trying to kill him. Write to, "PATHFINDERS,"and ask for a copy of newspapers printed articles of Malcom-X, himself, stating who is trying hard to kill him. It's not the white people. It's not the government. Once join a gang, Nation Of Islam, you can't leave the gang, ever. Malcolm-X was killed for not just leaving the gang, he also was killed for deciding to follow the peaceful protests route of practices of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., that was a direct violation of the rules, practices and customs of Nation Of Islam. Just like the reason why the church leaders killed Jesus Christ....when He walks be the church, people would run-out and follow behind Him in the streets and liston to what He talks about. The church leaders kept loosing more and more money out of the offering plates of donated money, loosing donated money each/every week/month/year and they wasn't going to have it...it was a Turf War, as the reason why the church leaders went to have Jesus Christ killed in any way whatsoever. The same with Malcolm-X, except he wasn't preaching the Gospel...yet. Malcolm-X was in prison, with no money, unable to buy anything from the prison commissary(a store in prison), until he ran across the Nation Of Islam in prison....this is how these terrorist non-profit groups recruit individual's, those "in" prison with nothing. But, once out in the freeworld, after this above U-TUBE program of him, he began to see things differently, doing it in a non-violent way of protesting ...and it cost him his life by the black race, Nation Of Islam. Therefore, be careful about who you join-up with...Jesus said, "Beware Of The Angle Of Light!" The Nation Of Islam image is badly tarnished by all of this, therefore, they re-arised under a new name, "Black Lives Matter!" Yes, it's a violent terrorist non-profit goupe...just liston to the words of their representatives, not disnounsing violence, but promoting/encouraging more violence .

@@richycartels4138 I don't claim to know the whole story, I'm trying to learn. Thanks for your informative post. I'm just saying i'm amazed at how smart and bold he was, and after being raised (as a white boy) to believe that he (and muhammed ali) were 'bad', I see now that he was an admirable warrior for truth. Yeah I kind of with he hadn't aligned himself with any organized group cuz he was ultimately bigger than them. I think he came on a bit too strong in the beginning, from a marketing standpoint, alienating many with his harshness, but obviously if he'd been allowed to live he would have become an important leader. Yet his importance ironically was largely because he was so harsh, white culture needed a good slap in the face at that time so God bless him. If he'd lived long enough to see how important and clever King was, they might have been unbeatable as a team. Of course regardless they both would have probably been murdered anyway, because they were so smart and truthful.

John Herman Blake was born in Mount Vernon, New York on March 15, 1934. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, J. Herman Blake earned his B.A. degree in sociology from New York University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in sociology from the University of California at Berkeley. In 1966, Blake was recruited by Founding Chancellor Dean McHenry to teach sociology at Cowell College at the newly opened University of California, Santa Cruz. He became the first African American on the University of California Santa Cruz faculty and remained at UCSC for eighteen years. Dr. Blake is beloved at UCSC, both as a charismatic, rigorous, and brilliant teacher/mentor and as the visionary leader who founded UCSC’s seventh college, Oakes, and served as its first provost. Oakes College emerged from a larger history of grassroots education in transformational politics in the United States centered in the Citizenship School Movement in the Sea Islands of South Carolina and the Highlander Folk School in Appalachia. See Dr. Leslie Lopez's essay (accessed through the link to the left) which explores this unique history of Oakes College. After leaving UC Santa Cruz, Blake served as the President of Tougaloo College until 1987; held positions at Swarthmore College; served as the Vice Chancellor at Indiana University; and was the Director of African American Studies at Iowa State University. In 2008, the Medical University of South Carolina appointed Blake as the first Humanities Scholar in Residence. He retired from the Medical University of South Carolina in December of 2014. Throughout his career, Dr. Blake has focused on students of color in higher education, urban militants in the African American community, and social change and community development in rural and urban African American communities. His publications include over fifty full-length contributions and a book, the autobiography of Huey P. Newton, Revolutionary Suicide. He has been awarded six honorary degrees and two presidential medals. Professor Blake has devoted much of his life to preserving Gullah culture. He was the founding director of the Sea Islands Institute at the University of South Carolina, Beaufort, and is currently Executive Director of the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor. This online exhibit, timed to coincide with "My Unique Journey: Learning Never Ends," Dr. Blake's upcoming talk at the UCSC Library on September 26, 2015 at 11am-12:30 pm features photographs, videos, and other resources about Blake's life, at UCSC and beyond. Curated by Irene Reti, Oral Historian, Special Collections and Archives. See the Regional History Project's website for the recently published oral history with Dr. J. Herman Blake and much more about UCSC history.

both movements by nation of Islam and Martins went on religious paths which already provided an obstacle to the achievement of their motives. Marcus Garvey was on the right path of economic and intellectual freedom being the real positive means of liberating blacks in the world.

By far, the biggest thing that kept me from converting to Islam when I reached adulthood was learning about the details of the assassination of Malcom X by the Nation. Every time I listen to Malcom speak, that's all I can think of...that he was murdered by his own...or "dealt with" as they said.

Malcolm's remarks about the NAACP are instructive, most people do not know it was founded by a variety of white person and nearly 20 years passed before a black person was elected (allowed) to be a president of it.

Black and white of course can be friends and we have many examples of it. Just that in his times, the atmosphere was very charged and people polarized. So these guys struggles bore fruits and now we have black and white friends as the King envisioned.

@@NoLefTurnUnStoned. we should study what's been done for Israel. They have a state of their own and they receive a financial support from US and other nations. The sons and daughters of slavery are owed at least that. I think we should look at what the Muslims want buy the honorable Elijah Muhammad. Give us some of these southern states (8 at least). Let's settle up at what is owed financially to us and be on our way. Great question.
