Sprout is really getting there now. Really looking forward to seeing the painting of both mini's. You have both worked so hard on them.

Hi Keith, well it honestly looks like brand new under the back there, really nice! As for the bearings great spot hey, better safe than sorry, I ordered genuine rover ones for the rear as they didn't have Timken at the time, (already had Timken fitted them on the front) and I couldn't even tighten up hand tight and wouldn't turn either, then gave it to my local mini man and he said he doesn't fit anything other than Timken, which he luckily had. He did check the Rover ones and said they were naf! Luckily I got my money back on the strength that they had dealt with him for years! Great stuff can't wait to see it all painted and on the road! Maybe you and Mark can do a road test together, a duo video hey! 😊

Yeah, Mark is more comfortable speaking on camera now so he will likely be a bit more involved in future videos

This is coming on great, don’t be too disheartened by the bearings. I like the way you use copper slip on bolts too, just like me and it’s made life easier for me when revisiting a bolt that’s been in for a while.

Another great update Keith, and top work as always, make sure that you order timken bearings 👍

If it isn't one thing its another with Mini's but at least you spotted now and not half way to Germany. You seem to be having issues with the jack it was going down by it's self when you were jacking up the subframe
@classicminiworkshop4 жыл бұрын
I just hadn't locked the jack off. Didn't notice until I played back the footage

@@classicminiworkshop I’ve rewatched this now that I’ve actually got a mini and I’m at the stage of refitting my subframe. Your videos are the most useful guidance. Cheers Keith.

Looks like you enjoyed that How tight do you do the hub nuts - hand tight or manual torque tight?
@classicminiworkshop4 жыл бұрын
I usually torque to spec and see how they feel, if new bearings are fitted and they are tight when torqued I back them off a bit and retorque after a few hundred miles
