Not a topsail schooner but a gaff schooner with gaff tops'ls. That is just called a schooner. If it had no gaff tops'ls, it would be a bald headed schooner. A tops'l schooner has at least one squares'l between yards, athwart ships. This sail plan is all fore and aft.

This isn't a topsail schooner. It's a gaff-rigged schooner. Topsail schooners have 1 or 2 square rigged gallants on the foremast.

I was going to say the same but then I saw you got there first. Definitely NOT a topsail schooner, but a gaff rigged schooner as you say. Exactly my first thought. It's a conventional gaff schooner with topsails set. A topsail schooner has one or more square sails high on the foremast. A sherry schooner is a sort of drinking glass.

From what I know she was hand built by Laurie Piper and twofold Bay Eden New South Wales Tasmanian Huon pine and celery top pine masts don't know if he designed it himself awesome man incredible ship sailing on her once was a life changing experience
