Bread making is somewhat of an art and you've got it nailed! Well done Michael! There's something about using your hands when kneading dough that feels natural. Some people don't like it but you need to feel the dough. After doing it awhile, you get to know where your dough stands and when it's done or when it needs a few more minutes of kneading.
@wildheart511 жыл бұрын
That is beautiful bread, Michael! I have made lots of bread but it has never come out looking like this! I believe when a baker uses his or her hands it brings something to the baked good that is unexplainable. Things my grandmother made with her hands tasted much better than when I make something and do it the same recipe. I think our chemistry has something to do with it. I will try your recipe!

Looks good... but I've sworn off white bread... I discovered the best recipe for whole what bread. It's amazingly simple and the best tasting I've ever made with good texture that holds its shape very well. I know that a lot of people can't imagine going through the ordeal of making bread, but considering how much quality bread costs these days... I love it.

I really like the looks of this recipe, so I will try it out. One thing about using a towel is, if you wet it, ring it out very well, and then put it on the bread, it keeps it moist but does not stick. No mess, no flour, and works great too. So, in a pinch, try it, works perfectly. Very "Old School" method.

I make fresh bread all the time.. My fiance eats so much bread that it is cheaper to alternate store bought with homemade.. I always put a pie plate of water on the bottom shelf of the oven as it helps to proof the bread a bit when its baking, and I find it gives a nice fluffy loaf. And plastic wrap never works for me like it worked for you, lol I find plastic wrap sticks to my bread and deflates it when I pull it off. I do use a terry cloth towel, but I moisten it with warm water first.. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you for an easy simple to follow recipe that delivers as promised! For those of you that use instant yeast, I have learned that the only difference between the rapid rise and instant is that you do not need to proof the instant as you would in the recipe above. Simply add the yeast to the water stir and add flour, no waiting necessary. I've tried both in this recipe (not intentionally, bought instant by mistake) and I didn't see a difference.
@123brinabrina10 жыл бұрын
Interesting method. I had watched several videos before making my bread today and I must say, so sorry I hadn't stumbled upon your sooner. I loved that you mixed the yeast with the water and sugar, to get things moving, adding a little flour, then resting the mixture for about 10 minutes. Very, very interesting. I will certainly use your method on my next go round! Thanks for sharing...
