I got a question for white hits: In my experience on a p-server I could cast lightening bolt right after the white hit and immedietly after the cast I will white hit again. Instant, I always see 2 numbers, or sometimes. if frostbrand weapon progs, 3. And if I cast lightening bolt right after, again it works. Again and again if timed correctly. Its basically a free hit and increases my dps by 20%-40% (lvl 41 shaman ele a lot of int and spirit, works both pve and pvp) Why dont ele shamans use it in dungeons or raids? would they get ccd, by the mob? couldnt that benafit a hybrid build where you use lightening bolts as dmg+the free weapon swing+a potentiel prog and then you could try to conserve mana by purly white hitting, maybe even regging enough to get full again and in between you still could totem twist sometimes, if one of the other shamans want to concentrate on something else. if more shamans work together they're able to get some crazy builds going, because they can switch up their roles of small utility.

For the Spell slinging enhance, you need to make sure to use your spells when Nightfall procs. Get as much melee crit as possible to maximize flurry up time. Not a lot of great hybrid gear till later, so mostly non spell damage gear early, easy to get plenty of crit. Most groups will want you to have imp weapon totems and be twisting for your melee group, which limits shock mana. Your dps doesn't matter much anyway.

Great guide....for a less mana intensive totem twist...you can place down the WF totem at 0 seconds...right around 4-5 seconds...place down the grace of air totem...which will refresh the group's current WF weapon buff and will have grace of air for a full 10 seconds....then right around the 9-10 second mark...place down WF totem.... So you end up using less mana but you will have a 5second window between the WF weapon placement and the Grace of Air totem placement. Note: at least from my own tests....the windfury totem refreshes back to 10sec on the party member's weapon when the 10sec buff gets down to 5seconds...and I am almost sure it is just before the entirety of the 5th second has elapsed.

Given that the buff timer does not line up with the GCD, you should not waste 1.0s out of a 1.5s GCD window to make sure Windfury totem never drops. instead you should drop windfury at the global at 9s and grace on air on the global at 10.5s. This means you can cast 2 extra globals in a 30s~ period.

Please be aware that this video does have a small tidbit of misinformation. It is 9% to hit the 63 boss (like stated), however it is NOT 6% if you are using your Axe racial. This was confirmed by blues on WoWhead. "This means that the so-called “hit cap” is in effect 9% rather than 8% for a player with 300 Weapon Skill fighting a level 63 monster with a Defense Skill of 315. With a Weapon Skill of 305, such as from Sword Specialization (Humans) or Axe Specialization (Orcs), this hit modifier is no longer in place against +3 level monsters, provided that you are using the appropriate weapon type to gain the passive bonus. Needless to say, this makes +Weapon Skill very good against raid-level monsters." This means that its 8% hit if you have the racial, as 5 WS at 300, pushing to 305, would ignore this 1% penalty, instead of what everyone who doesn't have the weaponskill will be, which is 9%. If you're gearing around 6% hit rating as an Orc with an axe, you're still going to be 2% hit behind, unless you manage to get another 10 Axe weapon skill on your gear, then you can mark it as 6%. Wow does additive. Other games do additive, and in general I prefer additive. WoW having all mitigation in one table makes WoW even more in love in additive (50% dodge and 50% parry will make you immune as all avoidance is squished onto one table that roll is made against). And if you make sense and interpret it differently it still makes sense (50% dodge means that 50% of attacks made you will be dodged, not "50% of attacks that would otherwise hit". I vastly prefer this than games where +10% +10% > +20% because of how multiplication works (1*1.1*1.1=121%>120%).
@Lightning_Lance5 жыл бұрын

@johnhandcock32425 жыл бұрын
Holy shit that elem devastation build is utter shit. You are losing 3% hit with melee and spells, Improved WF, and 10% dmg for an inconsequential probability to get an elemental devastation proc. Your chance to crit with spells is basically nothing. That talent might be worth 1-2% crit, at best. That's probably being generous.... Also, since you are constantly spamming rank 1 shocks, you are interrupting your mana regen via spirit. You can get 2 ticks of spirit regen during twisting totems, if you don't cast anything else.
@LapahnYT5 жыл бұрын
I love this guide, but is there any actual raiding footage for 40 man where you could try the builds etc.? It's all cool with a video and text, but when you ask raiders that raid for years and years on private servers they all say Enhancement is just way too bad and you either take another healer or another dps. Even the Annihilator/Nightfall procc is better handled as a hunter. So what's left as a serious reason to pick an Enhancement shaman into your raiding group? Don't get me wrong, I would really like to play Enhancement, but without having any up to date video footage of people raiding in Enhancement and showing the DPS+HPS they do to prove their worth it just seems not worth it.
@mattgenaro5 жыл бұрын
Did you even pay attetion at all to what he said? Enhancement is NOT about DPS+HPS. Is about utility for both damage dealers and healers. To be a fair evaluation, you have to sum up self DPS+HPS + % of all other DPS that have used the buffs to increase damage + % of the DPS that procc windfury. And there you go. Raid leaders that don't include this in the analysis are just doing the wrong calculation and losing out possible advantages.

three 33% chances does not make 100%, it makes about 71% chance. 29% of the time will still not be a crit. Unless i'm missing something and the 3 attacks don't have completely independent chance of critting.
@DefcampMelderonTV5 жыл бұрын
It's all independent but remember that Flurry grants 3 stacks of increased attack speed and only normal swings consume them. Extra attacks from WF do not. So, the other subsequent two auto attacks can also proc Flurry. And, If you WF on just one of those 3 attacks, you have 5 chances (87%) to crit and proc Flurry before it falls off. But, WF can also proc on the other two normal hits as well lol. Essentially, if you have 33% crit and Flurry was just procced, you can achieve anywhere from a 71% (at least 1 crit in 3 attacks) to a 98% (at least 1 crit in 9 attacks) chance to refresh Flurry before losing it! The 98% chance requires you to WF three times in a row though, which only occurs at a 0.8% chance... and I rounded this to 100% in the video. However, 71% at a minimum ain't too shabby. Thanks for bringing this up. I honestly did not want to go into all this in the video. @@DefcampMelderonTV I'd say that its a great explanation except the "71% at minimum". Expected value =/= "at minimum". Just because you have 33.(3)% to crit it doesn't mean you will always hit one crit in one of the three hits, so "at minimum" stars may actually align and you actually can run entire raid and not crit even once ;-) And even aside that, with 33% variance is still pretty high, and to have the calculated average you would need precisely one crit per 3 attacks - if you calculate the odds - even for having same total number of crits - when having two crits in first 3 attacks and then no crit then you are still not critcapped for the purpose of Flurry (and tbh my gut is saying me that you may not even be reaching the falling point until ~35-40% crit).

Sucks that magma totem's spell power coefficient is so negligible... I mean, I guess it doesn't suck that bad for enhancement. But overall totem usefulness. Also the totem having its own threat table is pretty garbage... Glad blizzard reworked totems and that that totem especially in late wrath

this guide was awesome, i was thinking to go enhancement, but i can only find how bad they are in raid, and some coments about Nightfall, also i was looking for some information in this hybrid build i would love to know more about it. And finaly i have a question, i still not sure if i will be able to play in classic, but if i do it will be casual, how friendly are shamans and this builds for a casual raider ??
@DefcampMelderonTV5 жыл бұрын
The thing is, their damage is not good, but their utility, in the form of totem twisting and proccing potential is great. That's where you will find strength. And yes, as long as you can totem twist, a casual player can really love this type of build and rotation.

Couldn’t a restro shammy pull off totem twisting and raid heal? Kinda like holy weaving for priest
@DefcampMelderonTV5 жыл бұрын
Any shaman can totem twist, however Enhancement Shaman do not have to worry about using mana on healing, unless they can or want to. Furthermore, its very hard to heal and totem twists for 2 reasons: mana cost and actions per minute. Remember, one cycle (10s) of totem twisting costs 475-532 mana with talents depending on the rank of GoA Totem you have! That's a lot of mana not going to healing. Finally, Improved Weapon Totems and Enhancing Totems make the twisting more effective. Now, of course, a resto can get these talents too but then they lose out on Mana Tide

I am planning on a white damage elemental shaman. I will certainly run a staff for humanoids and shield 1h for beasts. I want to get elemental focus at 20 and elemental fury at 30 with elemental devastation. Then I will go for nature's swiftness to make sure I have more cooldowns for turning the tables during PVP ganks. 40 min and 40% mana ankh and 30 yd totems is such a great QOL improvement that I always miss those talents when I don't purchase them. Since I will be a support DPS role for most ZF, ST, BRD, LBRS groups, resto talents help increase my efficiency there and grinding quests. I may end up regretting skipping 5% crit and 1 sec GW, but I always had a sour taste in my mouth when I proc a crit and windfury eats two of the flurry stacks from enhancement leveling. bobo-talents.aerobaticapp.com/?c=shaman&t=w6xcxdxexfw9xow5xpxqxrw7xgxhxiJJJrJsxjJew.xzx3x4x5x6xAxMxux.x~xDxxxGxHxyxFxVxWxXxYxCJAJzJyx7x8x9x_JfJg

I enjoyed the guide. Tons of great info in here which is awesome, one of the few concise guides for enhancement shaman. The only thing I have concern with is the emphasis on debuff proccing. Enhancement shaman are there to buff dps, toss the occasional off heal if needed, and to deal damage. When I played on Elysium, it wasn't uncommon for me to hit top 5 or top 7 dps when actually being allowed to deal damage. We all know that hunters or even an off-tank warrior are better at proccing Nightfall or Annihilator than we are, so why assume that role? I think that being in that role perpetuates this idea that enh shaman are unable to deal proper damage, which is just not true. I preferred using this build classicdb.ch/?talent#hE0zx0hZxVcdVMht when playing enhance. Re-casting lightning shield, IS damage, and clear casting is great for your mana efficiency. You can proc a elemental focus with rank 1s if you'd like to keep flurry up, and then use a max rank Earth Shock for a massive damage spike, granted that you're watching your KTM or another threat meter. During later stages of the game, it's not uncommon to see 2k crit Earth Shocks or even 3k (if you have the AQ tier on) which means you're giving up large amounts of damage which is a big growth opportunity. I'd also try and get your hands on a Drake Talon Cleaver as quick as possible, especially if you're playing orc as the WF procs can help with proccing the cleaver's fatal blow, which is an immense dps booster. I also hate the idea of giving up damage talents for the hit in the resto tree. 6% is not difficult to hit in most cases. Between Voone's Vice Grips, black dragon scale, blackstone ring, devilsaur, Slashclaw bracers, or Truestrike shoulders, you should be able to facilitate your hit cap with little difficulty, and be rewarded with damage talents. I'd check out The Vanilla Dream's channel, and watch him on his shaman "Pudgy". He puts up some seriously respectable numbers. Cheers
