Classic WoW: Everything You Need to Know About Mounts

Hi all! Note on Class Mount costs. The numbers I gave are a VERY rough estimation based on info I found in posts from 2005/2006. In reality the cost for these mounts will vary massively from server to server and we have no way of accurately predicting the cost of mats in a brand new market. Also 3 of the items for the Dreadsteed are bought from an NPC and cost 250g total, these items can be reused! So a Warlock can aid others on their quests without having to buy another set or sell to buyers, you can even make a nice profit eventually!.

Also in regards to Baron Rivendare’s drop - 0.2% = 1/500 not 1/5000. Still insanely rare, especially since you’ll likely have to roll off against your party. But certainly ain’t lottery worthy.

Also, I may be wrong, but wasn't there a Fishable turtle mount that was one of the most rare mounts period?? I can't remember if it was in Vanilla, or later, I'm leveling my orc/trolls for the kodo mounts, since they're my favorite in classic, unless the turtle mount is in fact a vanilla mount, but still, I level undeads in orc/troll area, or taurens area based on what I want, and all ally in nelf starting area for sabers, getting rep is significantly easier when starting in said area fro. Lv1, since rep gains reduce past certain levels, I believe if the quests are grey, or if you're already max, cant remember

@@dagowow Yeah, the gaming industry is so awesome nowadays....were at the point where we pay to not play like in Assassins Creed pay for stuff in a SP game. EA is under federal investigation because of loot box gambling. Activison Blizz stock lost 50%. Blizz lost 29m players, fired 800 workers and is now rehiring for positions they fired people from. Bethesda only has negative publicity with all the stuff going on in fallout 76. People dont play games anymore, they pay for everything. You know WoW had 12m players and is now down to 1m. Games SP campaigns are often less than 10h, back in the day a good game had 200h of content. Yeah, gaming has changed and it sucks. You call me uninformed but it is clearly you, who should read news once in a while.

i've actually been thinking about this. i think they're overrated. druids and shamans already soak up the majority of the movespeed value by virtue of travel form and ghost wolf. so that 100g is only buying +20% movespeed for them. so instead of a commute taking 10 minutes in travel form, it would take 8 minutes. That 100g buys them 2 minutes. You also aren't using a mount in between mob kills or dungeons so it would only save you time while in town or traveling in the world. Not that good.

Getting my warlock epic Felsteed was a huge sense of accomplishment. It cost less, but still a lot, and there were a lot of hoops it made you jump through. Nobody on my server wanted to run that obscure wing of Dire maul. I had to assemble a group of 5 warlocks to do it. It was mostly a disaster, we had to get voidwalkers to tank, we used fear and seduce for CC, and when we had to activate the quest ritual at the end, it was a hordemode rush of elite demons that we had to survive. Luckily we could enslave the elite demons to fight the other elite demons, and after a few retries, we finally did it and everyone was positively thrilled!

heres what you need to know about mounts in classic. You'll be using your racial one. Any other mounts will require a godly amount of luck or effort.

a big part of why I picked night elves. Nightsabers are BY FAR the best alliance mount imo. Nightsaber > pally horse = lock horse > dwarf ram > human horse >> mechanostrider Horde have some dope ones though, wolf and raptor are both awesome imo

Horses are also available from Menethil Harbour in the Wetlands. Only place to buy the black stallion for those interested.

I haven't really played since Wrath and I'm only learning now how lucky I got back then. I could have sworn I didn't spend incredibly long grinding for the Salty title nor the Deathcharger but I got both and I never knew how low the drop chances for those rewards were.

There was a large increase in the death chargers droprate in BC or Wrath, I think it went from something like 1 in 5000 to 1 in 200. So it use to be much more rare.

I had a kodo on my Undead Priest in vanilla. I think I was the only one on the server for a while. It was rad. It was easy to notice too because it was so much smaller than the other kodos. Sooo much cloth grinding lol.

You didn't/won't get the title "Scarab Lord" in Vanilla/Classic as choseable titles were added in TBC. The only titles available in Classic will be the equivalent of your current PvP Rank.

Iv'e seen the stratholme horse once, and it was the time i decided to stupidly go into the "left gate", so thus i was locked out of the instance during the fight, meaning it was a 1/4 for everyone left, and all i saw was "Insert name received Rivendares Charger", i was beside myself in anger.

This may be hazy memory, but I do believe that the lockout timers for the 20 man raids, ZG&AQ20, were 3 day timers, rather than the full 7 day lockout.

I don't care that there are "just a couple" of mounts in Classic. I just love the feeling that they are rare entities in the game and it makes me so happy to have a simple horse. In retail, I have dragons and they mean nothing to me because I literally farmed them in a few hours.

Winterspring Frostsaber in Classic wasn't obtained via dailies. That came much later, before you had to grind out repeatable quests that are extremely grindy and take many, many turn-ins to complete.

just 1 correction you can ride other races mounts at rank 11 bough from the champions hall mount vendor. I vividly remember grinding rk 11 specifically to get the night elf mount as a human

Nice video, but just wanted to add a precision: the Scarab Lord title was added in patch 2.0.3 and given retroactively to people who did the questchain. I have no idea how it'll be in Classic, but back then you could only get the mount but not the title.

What you need to know is, that they do absolutely the same thing, they only look different. A 100% speed horse is the same as a for example 100% speed super, world, universe destroyer that look like a monster or something.

My plan is to get saber mount as a first mount for my human. According to some ancient comments on internet it should be possible if you head to teldrassil at early level and do all the n-elven zones at appropriate times. ... I guess I'll see how accurate those posts are - I've read somewhere that rep. gains were buffed in tbc, so those posts might not be 100% accurate. :D

main faction rep grinds were really hard. You'll easily run out of quests. I don't even remember how you actually grind for rep the rest of the way. There had to be a few repeatable things. Must have.

It's quite easy to grind rep during AQ40 War effort event, but before that it's hell. Had server first ZG Tiger on Executus Eu which was really cool back then, almost like getting a new car. Also I've never seen a single Baron's mount through all of Vanilla and BC. They are much more common now, yet were almost non-existant back then.

Rivendares Charger had its drop rate reduced once the expansions came out. It will go back to a flat 2% when its live classic

Was it WotLK when bgs gave me reputation? I remember being exalted with all my classes but I don't remember vanilla too well. I liked the rams and that is what I used... I had other mounts, just never used them.

There was definitely BG reputations in Classic, you needed certain reps to get gear from the BG vendors. WSG was Silvermoon Sentinels and Warsong Outriders for example. pretty sure you gained rep from doing BGs, id have to check to remember

if you start a new character and imideately go to other race's starting zone (night elf goes to human's starting zone for example) and you quest there you will eventually earn enough rep with them so that you can buy their mounts

its 1.12 its going to be apprentice and journeyman riding. 90/900g and mounths pill be 10/100. you'll need to be exalted with mounts linked race.

IIRC, PVP mounts have no level requirement. I got rank 11 on a character in Vanilla, and pretty sure it was pre-60..
