**If you're a quest-gear fresh-60 scrub like me here are likely reasons you are failing at first:** Not a big enough mana pool. I couldn't do it until it got around 5400 Forgetting to have a mana ruby created, or mana potions available (I need both) Forgetting to agroing boss before spawning a pack of zombies (they just attack you instead of running to him) Pulling before ice-block is ready Not having ice barrier fresh + off cooldown soon (to survive initial mob damage + possible nova resist) Poor positioning / too close to large pack initially when agroing (at first I was getting beaten to 10% health right off the bat, leading to panic play) Not killing patrolling trolls Not spawning ALL graves in the group you are planning to kill, leading to accidental spawn when looting at low-hp/mana Forgetting to loot empty graves before looting dead zombies (graves despawn = lost loot) Not bringing various scrolls/elixirs (buff yourself up!) When you kill the boss, wand his totems immediately (they spawn adds) edit: Have many ranks of aoe spells on your bars, not just max-ranks It took me a couple hours and lots of corpse runs to flush all this out.

What you can do too: Do 3 runs, and DONT delete the gray items. HS Gadetzan, sell junk, mount back in, do another 2 runs and get lockout. log on alt w/e, come back when reset is over, rinse repeat. this way you dont lose the gold on the trash-trash grey items. its not alot, but it adds up + Mageweave sells (on my realm actually) for about 80s the stack, which adds up HUGE. all in all i peak 60-70g/hour consistent without rare/epic drops counted it

Mageweave selling for 80s a stack is what the bandages vendor for, so it may be worth the time to not get a cut from the AH taken out of your cloth and just churn out bandages while watching a quick video or doing HW.

If you use something like ElvUI this is baked in the bags into a button that deletes greys/sells greys when you are talking to a vendor. No need for a macro.

At 2:00, the vases are the only way I seem to be able to jump up, that corner or the corner nearest the boss give me trouble (in or out of combat). I also cant see how abusing the mechanic can cause you any problems..there are many places in various instances that let you change the mob's pathing by changing your positioning.

He doesn't really have logs or concrete numbers on anything. I'd be pretty surprised if he only got 1k g from this. With that said, he does a lot of herb, and sometimes alch. And he's always aoe grinding enemies when he's out farming, which is where he claims most of the gold came from.

it is important to add up that ZF is nice boosting place, so if you can find some level 42-51 to boost for like 3g per run, you can add that to your farming and adds like 15g raw gold per h

Been doing it for quite some time. My general advice goes like this: the more mana/hp you have, the more forgiving the pulls will be to the point that you will almost never die even after mistakes. I can also confirm underworld band drops - got 2 in less than a week. I think nothing beats this farm for mages as after some practice you are not forced to give it all of your attention so you can turn on a movie or a stream and just chill.

@@MrPeckishPenguin try to get the Necropile set from scholo and gear that gives int and stam, since spellpower doesn't scale well with blizzard and you'll want more mana to cast more blizzards

@@MrPeckishPenguin I'd say 3k is the sweet spot. With that you can even body pull 10+ graves and have around 1500 hp after getting hit before nova. You absolutely don't need spellpower in blizzard style of AOE (160 damage per tick 0 SP vs 172 damage per tick full pre raid bis SP). I got 3k hp/6k mana by simply buying Eagle gear off the AH + epic staff with 29 INT 15 STAM, I just didn't feel like making all those dungeon runs for really good stuff. The 2nd most important thing that helped me a lot was getting minor speed boot enchant. Really made it much easier to kite.

If it is not mentioned below, in Classic, You want to stack Int for AoE farming as +SP/+Frost does next to nothing. I had +125 in spell damage gear and my frost bolt increased accordingly (not precisely since it is specc'd to 2.5 seconds) but my blizzard ticks only increased by 4-5dmg each, which is correct, but not very helpful. With this gear I lost over 1.2k mana so I basically lost a blizzard (about 1200 dmg/target on a full channel). Also remember that blizzard will NEVER crit so really the only way to do better frost AoE damage is to cast more blizzards! This means you need more mana. If you can get good Int items that also have +SP, great, but if you have to choose, go Int.

Always going to be a 1% chance for a mob to resist your frost nova no matter what level you are, no matter, what spec. I feel like 1 resist on your frost nova without a 2nd one available via coldsnap = death.

having 1 resist a nova isnt too bad, you can ice barrier and just blizzard. If you know they're gonna interrupt the cast, RANK 1 BLIZZ is your best friend to wait for nova cd.

Farm doesn't work for me. Mobs hit through the shield and constantly resist my frost nova. Anyone else hunted by misfortune to the point you can't even complete something as simple as this?

It's a bit of a struggle at first, can take a day or at least a couple of hours to learn.

It’s doable man, just keep trying I’ve been at it since lvl 42-49 and plan on going until 52. It’s only getting better the more I level because of less resists. If you’re low lvl I recommend after the first frost nova after ice block use cone of cold (make sure you are specced in range and dmg for it) and run the mobs in a circle to round them up into a single mob, then keep reapplying cone of cold for better mana management. Also make 2 mana gems(highest lvl gem, and low lvl) in case you get low on mana. And keep ice barrier up in case you get too close to the mobs do it a couple of times until you learn the attack range (it’s a huge radius!)

My blizzard only does 160 damage per tick, and when I tried to put some spell power gear on, 23 spell power added like 2 damage. How did you get your blizzard damage per tick up to 174? I got a lot of int/stam gear for AoE farming, so I can't figure out how you get your blizzard dmg that high while also having enough hp and mana to do this.

Dude also has the "Rune of the Dawn" Trinket. It increases magical effects against undead up to 48%. This may be why your blizzard ticks less. Pretty sure it's the same case for me.

Why don't you use TSM? It always gives you an ideia of waht to craft and items on how much they can sell on the AH! You scan the AH once per day, takes 2 minutes and it helps a lot to get some extra gold!

I think if you have 3/3 improved blizzard, it has the same slow percentage as CoC. You have to CoC once the imp blizz slow wears off.

Ive played mage on private servers for years and done a lot of aoe farming, u dont need good gear the only thing u want is Stamina and int, spellpower scales terrible with aoe spells. So if you mean good pve raid gear then no, pve prebis for mages is not good for aoe farming you can Get Much better pieces with more INT and stam and less spellpower.

onyl thing is that you got rid of some grey weapons that are worth 98s a piece. Honestly if I was you i would just drop all my non essential gear and trinket off at the bank in gadgetzan and then go grind. Then in the mean time you can create the cloth into heavy bandages which also will free up bag space. Cheers!
