VoicePlay nails it once again! I loaded up “Hall of the Mountain King” on a second device so I could check out the makeup and costume comparisons and, aside from the horn color change to Layne to turn him into a giant carrot, the vast majority of the work is identical to the older video. Cesar’s ear whorls are slightly different, and his forehead horns have a visible spiral that was only hinted at before. I think Eli’s tunic is not the same. Other than that, the makeup team did a spectacular job of duplicating the Grundels in toto. I love every one of these people when they are front and center, but I’m developing a special fondness for Cesar’s habit of totally immersing himself into the character he’s performing. He’s just a blast to watch. It took me a few views to fully begin to understand the actual storyline of the video. You get so caught up in the music that it takes a while to see some of the interplay between the players. I couldn’t understand at first why Rachel looked so annoyed, but then the way the book became part of a game of “keep away,” plus some of the more mischievous expressions, and Cesar “borrowing” Geoph’s and then Rachel’s voice… and the adorable romantic attempt from Layne… 😍 So good!
