I had a couple of ideas for videos, 1. Ranking of the Sky albums, 2. How you file your records. I've got them in label order and chronologically and a separate section with name some artists, Heifetz, John Williams, Perlman, Menuhin - = a separate shelf with some box sets.

I only listened to 5 minutes of one of the sky albums so idea no 1 is probably not going to happen unless I get sent to prison with a portable LP player and only the sky albums with nothing to read and put into solitary confinement.

@@LPCLASSICALI bought the first Sky LP when released, I’m not sure I ever bothered listening to side two and not one of my desert island disks!

When i lived in London many years ago i visited many record shops like this, in those days i only knew about music i heard on the radio and magazines and papers such as Sounds so had very little knowledge of what a lot of great albums and bands i passed up until now thanks to the internet, there was very little try before you buy except sound booths (!!!) and if you bought anything you didn't like there were no returns, no discounts. As a rule of thumb i used to go for the "four / five hippies in a field" on the cover and was rarely disappointed!

Ok the later stuff tends to the typical charity shop fodder but the first Barbara Dickson LP (Thro The Recent Years, with Archie Fisher) is a superb and sought-after folk rock LP. I'm hoping a less-knowledgeable charity shop volunteer puts a copy out for a quid one day... 🤞
