actually Parkening used the m finger twice on the incredible Romanza, m finger rest stroke on E string follow with the m finger free stroke on the second. He famous quote “rules are made to be broken!” !

Hi Jordan, that is the first movement or "Preludio (Saudade)" from Agustin Barrios's La Catedral. The piece right after is Romanza. -Dave B

Bass guitar players do something similar. They call it raking or finger raking. When alternating i and m and descending to a lower string, the finger that plays the high string then plays the next lower string, so no strict alternation.

How about calling it a Combination Stroke, or Combination Free Stroke, or Combination Top Stroke?
