Malakai's voice is sublime, but listening to this you also see what an extraordinary talent Aled has, his voice and harmony's are equally sublime. These two should hook up for an album or two. I imagine Aled realized whilst singing 'HIS' song, that Malakai probably had the edge on him. Fantastic performance from both.

i have thought about this and cant decide, but each time when i hear Aled sing from years back i realised that it was the first time i had heard such a heavenly voice, Malakai is special too, but just give Aled the nod, not that it matters , Malakai is the voice of an angel and i am no way religious, this is spiritual on a different realm , not from a man made constructed religion, imo

@@tenebos3378 i do know what you mean about Peter Auty and the version in the film. I'm generally not a fan of cover versions of songs in general. I have to say, tho, this is a very special song. It can touch one's spirit afresh. Without being in competition with Peter's original version (and he should certainly be recognised), there is an ephemeral and certainly almost sacred quality to this piece that often is captured by those who sing it. As long as Peter gets recognised, there's Naut wrong with others paying homage to the same work ;)

Peter Auty is the original singer of Walking in the Air in 1982 but was not properly credited in the original film. 14-year-old Aled Jones was picked to sing it in 1985 for TV adverts which gained a lot of traction. The song has officially been recorded by more than 50 singers, both children and adults, male and female, but Peter Auty was the original.

With this song i became neither a person nor a nonperson. According to Wariboko, that is what you become when you are in the Spirit uttering mysteries. I watched Malachai performed at BGT and was in tears just as Bruno was. This was produced by Classic FM, for who Aled is a presenter. Aled was the original young boy treble who made this piece famous (although he was not the treble who sang on the film). Aled is still well known for recording CDs and has a fantastic voice as an adult. Yes Malakai is capable of singing by himself, and there are plenty of examples of this. But as a singer myself (of the same type of music that both these two singers sing), I can tell you that singing with others is a beautiful experience, and the clearly both Malakai and Aled are loving this duet. I enjoy singing both solos, duets, semichoruses and with full choir. Wouldn’t it be boring if you had to sing the same way all the time.
