I remember the trip down to Southampton and getting pitchforked in to the ground it was that tight. We wanted revenge for the loss in 1976. Saints were a good side with players like Ball, Channon, and Osgood. The replay was very tense but Jimmy Greenhoff scored in the opening minutes to take the pressure off. Saints got a penalty in the 2nd half (can't remember who scored it) and it swung end to end before Greenhoff got his second and the winner. Great footage of the players after the game by the way.

funfact... one can assume Brian said Liverpool in 'all dark strip' meaning that many would still watch on black and white tv's even tho its shown originally in colour.... yes kids, even in 1977 people still watched in black and white

We had a black and white tv in the early 1980s still.

Players of today would get hammered off these players on them pitches, not on the baize green pitches of today but deffo on them mud baths and bumps, I use to play on them too, you needed skill and balance not only for the pitches but for the challenges, the days when it was a tough mans game

That was a penalty (at 5:05), clearly by today's standard (which is not really football anymore), although United should have won in 1976 (offside goal?), swings and roundabouts.

Yeah. People used to think he was good at it. Of that era I don't think there was anyone to beat David Coleman.
