Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of TRUXTON for the Sega Genesis 16 bit video game console. Truxton on the Sega Genesis is an exciting shooter, one of the best on the Genesis according to some people. This game is a tough, vertical scrolling space shooter like Fire Shark in the depths of the universe. It is a video game in the SHMUP genre of classic games, and like many SHMUPS you collect power ups and fly around destroying waves of bad guys with laser beams, electro bolts of lightning and green things. Truxton is produced by TOAPLAN. Toaplan made many shooters by Toaplan like Fire Shark and always put a lot of care into their games. This version of Truxton is a US release, presumably this game originated from Japan and has a Japanese version. If you are in England or Europe or Brazil you'd play this game on the MEGA DRIVE (aka Megadrive) and rock the MD with some serious Truxton action. Truxton sounds like a 1980's hair band right up there with Trixter, Winger, Bullet Boys, Slaughter, Skid Row, Warrant and Cinderella. That gypsey road can take me home all the way to an awesome game of TRUXTON!!!!!! TRUXTON!!!!!! Available on LP record (aka vinyl) and possibly demo cassette or 8-track, but certainly not on CD. I just got my copy of Truxton after a 20 + year departure. It's been a happy reunion. Along with Truxton, the Genesis lot also contained Whip Run, Ghostbusters, Hellfire, Thunder Force 2, and Sagaia. It was a good day Lord Karnage. A good day.

There's a bug/cheat for this game.. if you use a smart bomb on a boss and pause the game while the skull is visible on the screen, it continually damages the boss. If you wait a few seconds then unpause the boss will be dead.

Recently traveling out of state with family along I-70, just West of Saint Louis, Missouri I took notice of an interesting sign just before exit 188 - Truxton. On the return trip I glanced up the exit to see "Truxton 12". I think there was a reason we didn't stop to see if there was anything interesting in the town of Truxton as, perhaps, we knew that it would not be as cool as TRUXTON.

Remember playing this in the arcades many years ago, and when I saw a review of the game in a games magazine called Computer & Videogames and it said it was for the Sega Megadrive I knew I had to get it. Still have the cartridge today. One of my all time favorite shooters.

I respect that you want to do other things and I understand KZbin has become a barren Wasteland for many of those who had hoped to make it a career. You still have CGR fans out there right now. You once said on Twitter that you think people only like the idea of CGR coming back, but I think that's crap. Kids like Scott the woz have risen in popularity, but where is the beer drinking wiseass to meet the needs of an older demographic? We exist, but I only ask that you please give us some closure instead of completely dropping off all of your platforms. The reason I am here posting this today on this video, is because people have noticed that you sold a copy of Truxton on eBay about 2 weeks ago. If this was your personal copy for use with CGR, then many fans are sad as this marks the end of an era. Once again, us fans are looking for some genuine closure if you are looking to close up shop completely. Thanks for all of the awesome videos over the years, because we really hope this isn't the end for good.
