Here is some details of the Battle Hymn for you guidance In 1861 the Julia Ward Howe was inspired by hearing the American Civil War song. She liked the tune but not lyrics so wrote " Mine Eyes Have Seen The Glory" . Incidentally the American Civil War (Battle Hymn) tune was actually taken from a Methodist hymn "Say Brother, Will You Meet Us" written in late 1700 by Willian Steffe. Wonder if you know that this music is used by a Regiment in Indian Army (Assam Regiment) for their Regimental song. Assam Regiment Battle Song ie same tune for their song (Badluram Ka Badan) -kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKaWfYaNaa57rrs). The chorus of the Assam Regiment song is retained as " Hallelujah". This song and tune is in the blood of every Assamese of all age groups and they sing it. The Lord has left a door of opportunity in it. By singing the original hymn, its surely a way to connect with the Nation and making hymns relevant. Hope the Battle Hymn of the Republic true meaning of the hymn will reach the Assamese people. A simple way to be relevant and connect with common man and share the love of the Lord. As mentioned in the description we did this hymn in this album as an Indian Regiment (Assam Regiment in North East India ) used the same tune as their Regiment song " Badluram Ka Badan" from a incident that happened in World War 2 . The tune is very popular to those in that part of the country. We wanted to introduce the hymn to be relavant to the common man so through the hymn the love of God can be experienced. Not on Facebook, nor on Twitter, but on KZbin I see these heartfelt comments praising the glorious hymns of God and I wonder why we cannot get in touch with one another and pray that the Lord Jesus will come soon and set right the awful Babylonian confusion and antediluvian iniquity now prevailing over the face of the earth. Truly born-again Christians are so few and far between, and belong to an older generation that has seen the mighty works of the Lord, and almost every one of the comments that I've read in this thread comes from a heart that knows and yearns for the Lord. If only we could meet together in an online group titled "True Christians who love the Glorious Hymns of the Past", we can perhaps pray down a revival on the younger generation which desperately needs to know the glory of God in the face of JESUS CHRIST!
