@@Chewy_GarageBandDad For me? The MILWAUKEE BREWERS! They were my team, always was and always will be! So many memories at County Stadium!🏟 I miss that place so much! The city of Milwaukee has changed a lot since then. The Drive-in we always went to was torn down, the 41-Twin, and the 24-Outdoor. Again so many memories!

@EdsterIII
@EdsterIII 2 жыл бұрын
@@captainredbeard7933You are 1000% correct! Baseball has not been crappy at all! The announcers have been so so in both the NFL & MLB, so it is what it is. In Milwaukee we're lucky. We can mute the TV and listen to Bob Uecker! He's always 100% on! Except some away games. His health keeps him close to home. But he's always been and will always be a LEGEND!

Watching this, it makes me realize that the World Series has honestly lost a lot of luster over the years. I still love baseball and it’s my favorite sport, but this is a struggle to see how far it’s fallen.

That was EPIC! Molitor and Yount were such amazing hitters. Pure hitters too. Not just power, but they could pull the ball, spray hit, hit for average, and in 1982 Yount smacked 29 HR's. This team's offense was insanely good! We were so close! That year for me was amazing then bad then pure HELL! After the Brewers lost, On November 13,1982 my Grandfather had a massive heart attack and died at 3:00pm. He helped raise me. After that the year was over. It was rough for me.

They won the Series because Milwaukee’s best two pitchers were hurt. Rollie Fingers, the 1981 AL MVP and Cy Young winner didn’t play in the 1982 Series because of a torn muscle in his forearm. And Pete Vukovich, the 1982 AL Cy Young winner, who did play, was not himself. It was discovered why after the Series finished. He’d been in pain for two years, and it was at its worse in the cold of October. He had torn his rotator cuff. He would make only three starts at the end of the 1983 season, and missed the entire 1984 season. The Brewers don’t bring in Pete Ladd to walk two late at the pivotal point of game two of they have Fingers. And Pete Vukovich doesn’t give up a three run homer to Willie McGee if he’s healthy. McGee has four homers all year, and then hits two in the same game against the Cy Young Award winner? Come on, now. I give the Cardinals credit. They played brilliantly. But I will always think the Brewers were the better team, and had they been healthy, they’d have beaten St. Louis.
@miket5377
@miket5377 4 жыл бұрын
@@theaterdreamer Nah. Vukovich was no sure thing. He allowed a ton of hits and walks during the season which played right into St. Louis's style. And people forget Andujar was hurt pitching in Game 7 as well, and he did ok. Milwaukee had so much more offense than St. Louis, they should have pummeled them in 4-5 games, but lost. The last two games in St. Louis they got blown out pretty bad. That wasn't cause Fingers was out. St. Louis was very good and consistently good for most of the 80s. The Brewers were a flash in the pan.

Wonder if Keith snorted a couple lines of booger sugar pregame and then missed that grounder by Oglivie in the first inning that led to the first run. I bet Whitey was pissed and probably said lets trade him to the Mets next year in June!!
