The "right way" to use a tool is the way that gets results. It's a tool. Great video!

On a dule piston caliper, how do you remove all the air from the secondary piston when the bleeder is on the primary side opposite the mating piston? I own a 77 Midget, redoing the brake system and noticed the front rotors are only worn on the inside. To me it means the outside piston is not compressing which would be air in the secondary caliper. Thanks, hope to get an answer if you can.

Thanks for the video. When rebuilding my Volvo 122 calipers for the second time in 30 years, I was told by a parts supplier that the internal o-rings were not supplied now because the calipers are not supposed to be split. I concluded that is erroneous because with so little space to work on the non-vented disc system, it is much easier to work on them and clean the the piston seal grooves properly. Also, it is surprising how much sediment is trapped in some nooks and crannies in these things. I didn't want that stuff in my hydraulics. With the Girling 3- piston setup, at least, I don't believe leaks from splitting this caliper is an issue. The parts supplier told me they are considering including all the o-rings now because they have heard protests from others about this.

Can you comment on the use of red rubber grease as the lube?

Only thing I’d like to say is to be careful blowing out your calipers. If they’re old, and I reckon yours are, there’s a fair chance that the pads contain asbestos. Who wants that stuff blowing about, ending up in your lungs? Not me, for sure!
