I’m so glad you made the decision to keep making videos ☺️ I completely understand how Covid has made people rethink their lives, what they want etc. The books you have read and the ones you want to read all sound fantastic! I have added The Call the call to my to read list and Despised and Rejected is one I’ve been wanting to read for awhile!

Hey, I'm not sure if I've ever commented on your channel, but I just want to say, that you're one of the people who have inspired me into reading classics. I have not read that many, but this year I have read five, currently on my sixth, which is Wuthering Heights! I started last year, with The Picture of Dorian Gray. If I ever lose motivation on reading classics I always come back to your channel, and even if you ever choose to stop producing content, I will still come back for some motivation. Anyways, just wanted to let that out there ❤️❤️

Oh, Lucy, hopefully some young professor of English literature will appear in your life very soon.If a beautiful young university student in a densely populated city does not have anyone to talk to about her books then there is something awefully wrong with the world. Your videos are amazing and so are you, please do not lose confidence, you are so inspiring!

Welcome back! I always enjoy your videos, and enjoy reading many of the books you talk about on your channel. Last year I read Middlemarch for the first time ever, after you said you planned to read it. I have always enjoyed the Brontes, Jane Austen, Edith Wharton etc, though I’ve never been a Thomas Hardy fan... As my winter reading (I’m in Australia) I plan on revisiting Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers.

I am so glad to see you again. So excited to read The Call. I adore WWI, and suffragettes. Also I have been in an Austen binge so you living in Bath is so cool. We all change a lot as a reader throughout the years, classics endure but I wane and wax with how many I read. And with other genres I change so much throughout. The genres I said I would never read/had no interest when I started bt are my most read genres of this year. So no pressure to ever be just one thing.

When the theme of suffragettes was mentioned I hoped throughout the entire video you would name at some point "I pose" by Stella Benson. This is a very peculiar book with a beautiful writing style that somehow reminds me of Nabokov, and it also has my all-time favourite scene in a book. Lucy, please give this book a chance, Stella Benson deserves so much more than being an obscure author no one ever heard of! I feel really lonely in my love for her books.

So glad you're back. :) You got me interested in starting to read classics, thank you. :) I love the cover of the book Summer. I would love it as a painting on my wall by my bookshelves. I recently finished reading A Room With a View for the first time and loved it. I will definitely be reading more of E.M. Forster. Also, your new book sounds really interesting. I have not read any books set during the suffragette movement.

I've read hardly *anything* this year-three books in total-which has kind of got in the way of me doing the booktube thing I'd envisaged my channel as being. Haven't even got into Katie's 1900-1950 readathon like I'd hoped to. On the plus side, your new book is an excellent excuse for not reading much cos you've been busy writing... you've got something to show for your quarantine, which is more than can be said for me.

Lucy, My copy of your third book, Bookishly Ever After will arrive within the next two days. I immensely enjoyed reading The Paper and Hearts Society and Read With Pride and I know that I will completely fall in love with the final book in the trilogy. The middle grade historical fiction novel I am currently writing heavily focuses on the magic of nature and the thoughts and imagination of women during the Edwardian Period and my characters bring me such innate joy whenever I sit down to write. I would love to read your book about the suffragettes one day when it is published. I need to read The Call by Edith Aryton Zangwill because I am fascinated by the history of the suffragettes and the feminist movement where women for fighting for the right to vote. The story of a female scientist, Ursula suddenly deciding to join the suffragettes allures me. As for the classics I have been reading, the author I have been finding most comfort in lately is Lucy Maud Montgomery. I know I am always talking about her books and likely boring you to complete vexation, but I have not read any of her stories for months and I recently read The Golden Road and Rilla of Ingleside, both of which transported me to the whimsical characters and landscapes in Prince Edward Island. I finally read The Tenant of Wild-fell Hall by Anne Bronte, which was the perfect feminist book that certainly uplifted my spirits. I have been loving the idea of reading children’s classics like Tom’s Midnight Garden by Phillipa Pearce and revisiting Beatrix Potter’s stories in The Fairy Caravan. I love you
