And NBC and ABC rose. Fox became part of the network world and making a name for itself. Nearly 85% of Fox's affiliates or would be Fox affiliates were on UHF band channels, usually channels 14-83. Even some former CBS affiliates became Fox affiliates. Rupert Murdoch knew his dream was coming

Very Different Pre game show that did change Sports TV in America no doubt. Don't agree by saying this was the best ever Pre Game show. Groundbreaking no doubt. With that said, go look at the CBS NFL Today oringal studio crew led by Brent Musberger between 1975-1988ish. Without Brent, Phyllis George, Ira Cross and the first ever regular "sports gambling analyst" Jimmy the Greek Synder, there is no Fox NFL Sunday. Or later Pre game/Studio Shows from "Inside the NBA" and more.

The moment sports television has been waiting for! The inaugural season of the NFL on Fox in 1994. Nearly most of the crew were CBS castoffs. Ironically, Brown went back to CBS in 2006 as the next host of "The NFL Today"

It's amazing how Fox came in and became so successful right away. They got the number one crew from CBS, nailed their number two crew, and found a lot of successful talent in their lower crews, some of which are still around calling NFL games. Maybe more impressive is nailing the studio crew. When CBS came back to the NFL, it took them a while to get their studio crew the way they wanted it. In fact, they completely scrapped all of their analysts after the inaugural 1998 campaign.

YEP, And my Niners beat the Raiders 44-14 on Monday Night Football when Jerry Rice passed Jim Brown as the all-time touchdown scorer. What a way to kickoff the 75th anniversary of the NFL and as for the 49ers it was a sign of things to come on their way to the franchise fifth Super Bowl.
