Why Drew Pearson is not in the Hall Of Fame is beyond comprehension. I just don't get it.

Agreed. Travasity. Top 3 WR in the 70s is not in the hall.

You could sense the dislike each team had for each other. You don’t see players patting the rear ends of opposing players, they sure as hell don’t help opposing players off the turf, coaches and players just walked off the field without the customary love fest that happens these days. That was a true rivalry game.

No matter what the records were back then, these two teams always beat the hell out of each other. Great football to watch. Allen's teams always had the heart, but they typically couldn't measure up to the talent of Dallas. I mean, I loved Kilmer, but he was no Staubach. When the Redskins were able to win these games, it was usually because they were ripped up into a frenzy that could not be stopped. Undefeated against the Cowboys in two NFC Championship games and that's because both were in the best stadium experience that ever existed: RFK. Great memories, never to come again.

Murchison bought the Redskins team song to force Marshall to vote for his ownership of a franchise. After the nod, Murchison puts a bunch of chickens at RFK stadium. Redskins were out to injure Staubach and succeeded. That led to the Longley to Pearson TD. Redskins sent a funeral wreath to Harvey Martin's locker claiming they will bury Dallas. After the win, Harvey throws the wreath into the Redskin dressing room. Tom Landry said that George Allen's antics were good for the game, but he didn't trust him. Cowboy fans sang Happy Birthday to Theisman, after getting throttled. There are other stories where the Redskins got the last laugh. It was a great rivalry, maybe the best.
